[Patch] Browser - Sharing Super Mix Patch [2.1.0]

This patch is a combined version of the Bad Kitty/Twee/Tweed/Spaz Super Mix patches. It is based on work by Thomas Coe, fritos1406, @benyfish, @semicolonapps, and Micah N Gorrell.


It provides the following options:

• Share Via:
  - Facebook (via status)
  - Bad Kitty
  - Spaz/Spaz Beta/Spaz Special Edition
  - Twee
  - Tweed
  - Carbon (Official only, Beta does not support crossapp)
  - SMS (auto-shortens URL)
  - Email
  
• Page:
  - Add Bookmark
  - Add to Launcher
  - Send Via Neato!
  - Add to Spare Time
  - Add to Relego
  - Copy to Clipboard
  - Shorten URL (is.gd)
  - ReKindleIT! (opens in new window)
  
• Browser Shortcuts:
  New Card: Gesture+N;
  Add Bookmark: Gesture+M;
  Add To Launcher: Gesture+L;
  Bookmarks: Gesture+B;
  History: Gesture+H;
  Share Via SMS: Gesture+S;
  Share Via Email: Gesture + E;
  
• Private Browsing

To edit which options are shown, install the Tweaks app and flick the switches on and off in the Browser category.

Just comment out the lines you don't want (Twitter, Neato, Facebook, Spare Time, Relego, Shorten) and leave the Share Via SMS line.

Brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for.

I noticed that your patch conflicts with the Private Browsing patch. It would seem that maybe your patch should incorporate that patch as well, because it modifies the Browser App menu. Any chance you could do that?

Yeah, I forgot about that! I've updated the patch in the first post to include Private Browsing, also I rearranged some of the menu items to accomodate since I enabled it by default. The New Card command is now last, I figured that was maybe the least used command. But you can change it around, of course.

As a side note, the gesture commands for History and Bookmarks are still a bit off. They work, it's just that if you swipe back from the HIstory or Bookmark without selecting an item there, the location bar gets stuck and you can't type. You can refresh the page via the menu or Gesture+R and it will go back to normal, though.

EDIT: The Refresh page is now the last command...

I keep getting "patch installation failed. I AM modifying it according to parameters, but it doesn't seem to want to install. I ahve alse removed all other browser related patches. no joy.

Um, I dunno, what do your logs say? There's three different files that are modified: page-applicationmenu.js, page-assistant.js, and startpage-assistant.js. If there are no other patches, it's possible your patches didn't leave the original files like they were supposed to and you need to send the originals back to the device.

EDIT: It was made using 2.1.0 files....may work on 2.0, def won't work on 1.4.5

Make sure you're opening it in a decent text editor....not Microsoft Word/Notepad/Wordpad. If you're on Windows, try Notepad++. Just download the patch file myself and the +'s and //'s are where they should be.

Ok, got it....I was reviewing it on Wordpad. I'll try to install Notepad++ on my laptop, that's probably the issue. Thanks!

I submitted this patch to Preware. It allows you configure options using the Tweaks app. You no longer have to edit the file manually.

Edit: If this patch is not working for you right now, it's cause I need to update it with the correct owner. Sorry. ^^;;

Can't wait for the update in preware. I downloaded it and used it in tweaks but it didn't work. =(

The options I have enabled under the 'Page' & 'Share Via' groups in Tweaks aren't showing up in my browser menu. Anyone else have this problem

At least I hope that's what's up, as I am having the same issue.

Currently you can't install this patch if you have the "View Source" patch installed. Is it possible that you can fix the conflict, or merge "View Source" into this patch?
