[Patch] eBooks for Kobo WebOS 2.x connection fix

i have a UK Pre3 running 2.2.0 and now 2.2.4.

Just sits there and the loading icon spins continuosly

The connection doesnt seem to work. I think they completely pulled the plug on kobo for WebOS.

Can anyone with webOS 1.4.5 confirm if Kobo works or not? That would let us know.

I have Kobo on a 1.4.5 Pre+. (Yes, I haven't doctored it. That's another discussion.)
Over several months it lost functionality.
First, I could no longer see the lists: Best Sellers, On Sale, etc...
Second, it stopped saving bookmarks. It was sporratic at first then quit all together.
Third, I couldn't search the catalog to buy new books. If I went to the web site and bought the book, it would then download.
Fourth, I could download a book if the title was already on my Pre+ but I couldn't add any books to my library.
Finally, I can only read books that are already on my device.

I don't know how the Kobo system works. Is there a way to mimic Android, or one of the others? The way functions were slowly lost, it isn't just a simple ID ping, unless each function has its own ping.

To assist Kobo users with moving on with webOS (if you don't already know)

on your computer
- install Adobe Digital Editions
- open EPUB's from *your* library on Kobo's website
- install Calibre
- install Calibre DRM plugins (Google)
- in Calibre add the EPUB's from the Adobe Digital Editions folder
- copy the EPUB's from the Calibre Library folder to your phone

on your phone
- install an EPUB reader - pReader
- destroy uninstall Kobo
