I see the .wallpapers folder in internalz, but not on my comp via USB??

EDIT: Okay I got my comp to show .wallpapapers and dragged images in there, still black..?

Now that you have found the right .wallpapers, start from scratch:

1.Uninstall the patch and remove all the wallpapers that you placed in the .wallpapers folder.
2. Restart your phone.
3. Drag the wallpapers back into the .wallpapers folder and reinstall the patch
4. Restart your phone.

hmmmm. i've been trying to get my cousins pre to install this patch and i cant seem to figure out why it keeps not working. its very strange.

Either it installs fine with no errors and nothing changes, or it gives an error about something called /tmp/scriptfile.sh and says hunk 1 out of 29 failed.

also, for whatever reason webOS repair utility doesnt work on his phone. Says the webOS doctor is mismatched but i;ve checked multiple times that it is the right one and the version on his phone is 1.4.5

idk... any ideas?

I actually modified the patch to pull the images from an alternate directory, ".icons". Seems cleaner than the ".wallpapers" folder. Just my OCD, I guess.

Are you certain that you're using the correct carrier Web Dr? I believe there are diff WebDr's for different cell carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc).

yes, i've downloaded it like 4 times from webos internals wiki.

its the ATT 1.4.5 palm pre doctor

no. he's not really literate with pre stuff. only knows how to do preware and only had 3 patches installed that i removed.

I've never seen the build error as <unknown>

You might want to ask Jason R., the dev for the repair utility.

go to palms web site and download the doc from there.

put in serial number and get that doctor

Also make sure that you have the current version of the Repair Utility. They are version specific.
