The app ist still quite basic, there is no way to update events yet (even if it could check for an event already created and refuse to create a second on this day). If you need to update the workflow is right now: remove events, recreate events.
About the age in the subject line: the events are created as repeating events, which makes it impossible to add the age to the subject. Maybe I will do it when creating only for the current year.

For many years I used a great app on PalmOS, Birthdate
Download Birthdate 1.2 for PalmOS Free Trial - Keep track of birthdates and other events of your family and friends. - Softpedia

It did the same as your app does, but it made possible to customise the message in both birthday and reminder notes. Also it showed the age of the person having birthday. So it should be possible to do... I think that at every occurence of a birthday, it recalculated and put a new one a year ahead. So I never had many years out into the future but only held one year of birthdates in the calendar.

I loved that app, and have now tried the Birthday Events. But it does not create any events in the calendar. For troubleshooting I have included my log.

Any help would be appreciated - thanks.

I need help!
I remove and reinstalled the new update.
Now my calendar is broken! It does not show any of my events, it does not show my google calendar and in my preference and accounts everything is blank and I cannot change them!
I use the Ubercalendar. So what should I do? In what order? Remove Ubercalendar and try to reinstall it first?

You removed the app and reinstall it, it shouldn't affect your calender in any way. Have you tried a reset of your phone?

After I reinstalled the birthdayevent I notice my GPS fix was not working. There was an error message ( I cannot remember exactly, something like -1 ...). Then I uninstall GPS fix too and tried to reinstall it again but the error persist). So I checked the calendar and I found it broken. I already unistalled Birthdayevents and Ubercalendar patch but it did not solved the problem. Right now I remove the battery to check what happens...

Birthdayevents App is just a normal app, no patch, nothing evil. It just access all your contacts, that's the only reason it isn't allowed in the catalog.

as it seems to be difficult to port this app to webos 2.x and HP seems to have no interrest in implementing this feature into contacts i will have to store my 1.4.5 contact birthdays in a seperate google calendar for now with the 1.4.5 birthday app.
don't know what to do in the future with new contacts and their birthdays.

To put birthdays from the adressbook into the calendar was one of the important things I already used with my old Palm T devices. It is strange that this seems to be such a problem with webos. Is webos the wrong direction?

I think I will start working on it soon. I might just create an enhanced export app for contacts and calenders. The contact export will then also create an ics file for birthdays, which one could import back using iCalImporter.
