Got a replacement Pre a day ago and have been trying to get the phone back to where I had it. I installed Preware, no issues there, but I get an error message upon running it, and the main Preware menu does not list "available patches" like it used to. It lists available applications though.

Any ideas on where to start? I have put nothing on the phone since I got it, other than Preware. All feeds are "on".

Could I have missed something? Advice or help?

    Thanks guys!

go to drop[ down menu and make sure patch feed is on,, then update feeds

you probably need a newer version of preware or your phone isn't running 1.4.5. Make sure you have the latest, and that your new phone has the latest webos.

also make sure you have updated yur phone to 1.4.5 in the first place . if your phone is not updated it wont see alot of the patches and apps

1.45 is the version that I have (checked in device information). Patch feed is on and update was done, but still no change. Anything in the preferences area that I need to adjust?

    Thanks for the prompt responses.

you need to delete everything you had previously like the web doctor and webOS quick installer and reload it all from precentral . then come back and let us know if it is fixed . not updating stuff is what the problem usually is. ALSO DELETE PREWARE AND RELOAD IT AS WELL!

Ohhh...so totally wipe everything from my PC then reload it (webOS installer and web doctor)? Basically start fresh? Sorry, just ensuring I am reading this correctly.

Before I turned my other phone in I did run the doctor on it, seemed to work fine. Have not used web os quick installer for quite some time.

Thank you VERY much for the help.

I don't think you have to wipe the phone. Just uninstall the preware app. Everything else is about downloading new versions of preware installer, wosqi, etc which all run from your pc.

I really thin the issue is that you don't have the latest preware version.

If you haven't install any patches then you won't see install patches. If that's the case.

Ok, small update. I did delete/reinstall webos installer and doctor on my computer, and reinstalled preware on the Pre, but no change. The error message was there upon the first Preware start up, but after a luna restart the error message is gone. Feeds are all turned on, everything is good there. I can search for patches, so I have been doing that, just mildly frustrating to remember the ones I had on my old Pre.
