Default 400+ patches available now...what else needs to be "patched"?....

There are "patch request" threads here and there in the PreCentral forums. *Was curious as to what is left to patch?

I've posted a bunch of ideas. Patches provide me with extended preference options, which I like.

Select multiple e-mails for delete or move (don't know if that can be done with patch).

Save e-mail attachments to /media/internal/downloads for unsupported file types, or give the option of open or save for supported file types. (Don't know if that can be done with a patch either).

As I've said in other threads, I would like to see per-app replacement patches with preferences scenes, so we an cut down on the total number of patches installed.

sconix is a master of this domain. I count at least 16 patches his next release will allow me to remove.

What else needs to be patched??? Off the top of my head:

Browser:
- Change Font (to Times Roman from Prelude) with a preference dialog
- Change Font Size (Increase / Decrease by 2 pts) with a preference dialog
- Find Text on web-page
- Save Pages for Offline View (like Opera Mini) and then have an interface to delete the pages after reading.
- Browser integreated RSS reader (like Opera Mini)
- Decrease the size of bookmark icons and increase the number bookmark icons on startpage; there is a patch out there somewhere but it leaves the start page ugly with rounded _and_ sharp edged icons.
- Bookmarklets capability.

UI:

- A device wide scrollbar (you cannot possibly expect ppl to read an email without knowing where they are in the scene)

Calendar:
- A setting that says make appt X mins long (instead of choosing 1:45 to 3:15, you would chose starting from 1:45 and say 1 1/2 hours long)
- Swipe to delete an appt
- When you move an appt to a different day, after backswipe (saving), the view should be of the different day; not the day where the appt was originally.
- There are so many more that even the Ubercalendar does not provide. Compared to Palm OS, the calendar app feels like Version 0.1.

Contacts:
- Have a alphabetical scroll feature

Music Player:
- Graphic EQ

Messaging:
- Change Font with a preference dialog
- Change Font Size (Increase / Decrease by 2 pts) with a preference dialog. There is a patch out there that decreases the font size but it does not decrease the size of the text pane; so you dont get the benefit of smaller fonts: increased content on your screen.

Email:
- Select multiple e-mails for delete or move (as already mentioned earlier)
- Select multiple photos/docs for attachment.

So, yeah, there are many more patches that we could do with.

I would really like that make it where can have business/friends/family/etc... contact groups and click the different groups depending on activity and only show the contacts in that group.

I would also like the alphabetical scroll feature like veerar pointed out. But I think both of these would take more then a patch.

* A notification patch that alerts you when your battery is at 100% with either a stock sound or a customizeable sound of your choice like the custom low battery notification patch.

* The ability to copy/download audio and video mms to your phone.

Perhaps it's just me, but I'm always accidentally pulling down the device menu. If there was a patch that would bring that down only when a volume key is pushed or perhaps a tap in the gesture area, it would save me a lot of grief.

That can be done currently, but it is VERY cumbersome.

Fix the cursor screen issue when typing ~ just like what I'm experiencing now, typing this message on my pre.

I'm still hoping someone will roll up a patch that keeps the Pre from coming on when picked up from the Touchstone. Mine is always in the Touchstone in my truck, and usually when I pick it up I'm putting it in my pocket as I get out. Always have to shut it off first.

Word up Rush, I'm with you on that. The most annoying thing to me when typing here in the forums from my pre, is when I put it in a card, open up another browser card, or open up an app, answer a call, text, or whatever it is I'm doing at that moment; coming back to the forum to finish what I was typing, and it scrolls my text input field all the way back up to the top. Especially annoying when typing a long response, because if I am multitasking, everytime I go back to continue where I left off, I can't! I have to scroll back down to where I was at in order to resume typing. Super annoying!
