Patch Request - Messaging/email lists default to top

Is there anything available now that would make the messaging or email programs default to the top of the list?

For instance, if you scroll down in messaging and pick a message, after reading/responding when you swipe back, it stays where you scrolled to. even though the message may have moved to the top of the list.

EDIT: I guess what I am trying to say is that I do not want it to remember the scroll position.
