Default Network Type in device menu (Jason?)

Hi All

Running 1.4.5 gsm, as data traffic expands here in the UK, the 3g cells are creaking under the strain.

The solution from o2 the uk carrier, is to switch the network type to 2g only (2g cells have uniform coverage, 3g cells shrink with usage.) as opposed to automatic or 3g only,

Amazingly this work and has enabled me to make and get voice calls inside my home. Using 3g or auto in my home currently means endless dropped calls.

It would be awesome if there was a patch therefore to enable toggling of the network type in the device menu!

Happy to contribute cash for this!

Many Thanks

Ian
