    Turning off the data connection can easily triple battery life on the phone, however most of the time this isnt a practical solution because you want your Pre to be fully functional.

    This patch would therefore only

    1. Turn data off (ideally with a notification) when your battery reaches very low levels say 20% or 30% (or some other level...or even giving the user the option to pick their own level) to prolong the ability to use the phone since it is about to die anyway and using data at those levels is impractical.

    2. Once the phone is charging or the battery level passes 20% or 30% (again or some other level...or even giving the user the option to pick their own level) the data connection is re-established (probably without a notification)

    Mode Switcher can handle this for you.

    You can setup any combination of settings that will trigger based off battery life, gps location, touchstone, etc.
