This patch brings a customizable low-battery notification sounds.

There are 2 sounds that you need to include on your device for this to work:

/media/internal/.sounds/twentyPercent.mp3 - This is the notification sound you hear when the battery % dips below 20%

/media/internal/.sounds/tenPercent.mp3 - This is the notification sound you hear when the battery % dips below 10%

    Enjoy

Nah, there is only a <20% alert and a <10% alert normall, so I only customized those, heh.

I can't believe how easy it is for you to make these patches. Its awesome. I'm about to install this using internalz for the first time to install direct from a link. Oh, and the things you did with internalize are amazing too. That should be a palm stock app.

Do you pick your own sounds and just make sure they are in the correct folder and have the correct names?

Yes. You will have to create the folder ".sounds" (without the quotation marks) in /media/internals/ and put the selected .mp3 files in there...Internalz worked great for this! Thanks again, Jason! Also, if you want to take a particular segment of an .mp3 Audacity works great for creating those...

Really cool patch - for all you "Lost In Space" fans here are a couple of clips from the Robot - I am using "Warning, warning!" for 20%, "Energy cell exhausted.." for 10%. (Unzip and rename the mp3 files).

And yes, I'm old enough to remember when that show was new....

    Jason,

Do you know whether this patch is working with 1.4.5 ?

I went ahead and reapplied the patch from Internalz but guess I would have to wait until my battery gets to 20% or lower to see if it works....

Yes, curious about that myself as I got down to 20% and the phone played the normal alert sound.

It still works I am using it with 1.4.5 I am using jeffcoat's energy depleted sound.

I am unable to install the patch through Internalz. I'll try to post later when I use quick install.

    Thank **** Tufeld for that!

My wife & I are huge Lost in Space fans. I wanted to use "Danger, Will Robinson" for the 20% sound, but couldn't find a good, clear sound clip for that one. Maybe at some point...

successfully installed the patch through webos quick install, created .sounds directory and placed both files there. I just tested it by wearing my battery down and it didn't work.

am I doing something wrong? Any help here?

edit: just noticed my filenames were tenpercent.mp3.mp3 and twentypercent.mp3.mp3.

lol. I'll give it aother try.
  18. #18
yes the double .mp3 is why it isn't working.

Does it make a difference if the file is saved as tenPercent or tenpercent and alike?

I know linux is particular about upper and lower case so I would make it match Jason's patch exactly.
