I doubt this is possible but I have no idea so I will ask. I would like to be able to send a simultaneous text message to everyone within, say, a 50ft radius. For example, you are in a movie theater and there are a bunch of kids who wont stfu. So, you send out a text that says "everyone please tell these kids to stfu." I think that would be pretty neat, haha. So, is this something to even consider or is it totally impossible? if it is not possible, can you please explain why.

won't happen, atleast not through a patch. Something like this would only be accomplished through a program and every person in the theater would have to have the program installed on their phone as well (kinda like foursquare or latitude). Other than that your phone would not be able to link a gps signal to a number and send out a message.

Not a patch, but maybe could be done with an app using location services.

Is he asling to txt *friends* or =every= carbon-based cell phone owner in an area?

    sounds like a latitude-like feature.

I think he wants to send everyone within a certain range, or radius, coupon codes for viagra.

Quite honestly, the only thing that could be more annoying than kids talking during a movie would be to have someone txt message me some spam, about kids talking, during a movie.

    That would be annoying.

I was thinking the OP meant something like texting everyone in your contacts who lived within a certain radius of where you happened to be. Not sure how that would be useful, but I imagine it could be done.

If this ever happens I don't want it.

Why not just open up your mouth and tell them to shut the **** up.

it's more rude to send a text then to just say it.

This could be used to give your number to a person that you don't want to go up and talk to, Like the girl/guy driving on the highway next to you. LOL.

I guess they could make it but everyone would have to have that App and be login in at all times. Would be like chating in a chat room based on GPS 24/7

    Sorry for the delayed reply...

Short of everyone you know running some sort of latitude type app, all the carriers would have to make accessible all phone location data based on which towers they were currently locked on to. Then your phone would need an app that could filter the data set down to the ones that were on the same tower a you.
