Not sure which forum is best for this question, but hope it's OK here...

Preware is showing me update available for Luna Manager, and when I tap on it I get a message that Package Manager Service needs to be updated first.

When I tap on "Install/Update" it goes to "Downloading/Installing Pckage Manager Service" and just hangs there, never does anything else. (If I close this screen out and restart Preware, it still shows available update for Luna Manager).

Any ideas on what can be causing this and how I might be able to fix it?

    Thanks!!

Uninstall the old Luna Manager, update your Preware feeds and then install the new Luna Manager.

I think it has to do with transition from separate package manager service to one that is incorporated into Preware.

I don't have to uninstall the old Package Manager service?

    This!

I didn't even bother to reinstall it since I have the Advanced Reset Options patch.

Nope just tap Remove. It will remove the PMS as well.

With the advent of Preware 1.x, you no longer have to install a separate service. It is incorporated into Preware.

From the WebOS Internals wiki page:

    Recent enhancements

1.0.0: The Package Manager Service has been rewritten in C and incorporated into this single Preware package. Installing Preware 1.0.0 will remove the Package Manager Service as the last step of the upgrade process.
