Patches Email App to override alert notification to system sound when you get more than X unread emails and alert is set to mute. Show icon in account preference should be set to on. Now you can change the number of unread emails on preferences. Cookie function for preference heavily taken from email notification repeat patch thanks to Lclarkjr.

    There are two version attached
    Code:
    email-notification-override-v2.patch
    Is the standalone version.
    Code:
    email-notification-override-compatible-with-repeat.patch
Is a version edited to be compatible with email repeat notification patch, it should be installed after the notification repeat patch.

I guess it alerts you when you have over a certain amount of unread emails received, it will make whatever sound you have stored for your system alerts regardless if you have the phone set to vibrate or not.

    Am I explaining this correctly?

I misread your post, your idea is right, but it works if you have the alert to mute, not on vibrate.
