yup yup think I would be cool. Don't really care if it's ever actually done. Just saying it would be more useful than twitter imo.

    You can kinda do it...

Check out the Universal Search Command Line (USCL) patch -- details here: http://forums.precentral.net/webos-p...line-uscl.html

One of the nice features of this patch is that you can add your own searches to it (as described in the first post), and here is a link to a post that I made with the code to add YouTube as an option: http://forums.precentral.net/webos-p...ml#post2230437

there's a MUCH easier way of doing this that's already out there... it's the KeyToss patch:

    http://forums.precentral.net/webos-p...ool-patch.html

once the patch is installed from preware, you just type in @yt searchtermhere to search youtube.

the beauty of KeyToss is that there is a long list of sites that you can search from, and i there is one that's not there yet, the guy who maintains it can just add it to the service and everyone has access to it instantly w/o having to download an updated patch.

to get the full list of available sites that you can search from, just type in @help or @k.

but that's not as fun haha. I have the USCL patch. That's what actually gave me the idea. Typing .youtube everytime is kinda annoying imo.

Actually, I've been wondering if anyone would use a patch that leaves the functionality of the GSA the same but adds a preference area with an array of toggle(on/off) options for different searches...The idea is any user could then decide what they wanted their default list to be.

Tried it...I couldn't get it to consistently go all the way to the top...It may be due to some sort of caching don't know yet.

As far as the GSA idea above, I have it about a third of the way complete...I just need to figure out the best away to store and build the array which would be used as your default list.
