Here is a little item I put together for myself and was asked by 2sslow to upload what I did here so others can do the same. Hopefully I add everything here as needed and directions are good as I really don't feel like answering questions right now.

( "Friday my wife delivered our baby girl at 17 weeks and I am not in any mood to do this anymore." )

Download these file to your computer.
    scrims.zip
    scripts.zip
    Extract them.

Also make sure you have Terminal or Terminus installed for future use with this setup as it will make this computer independent once you have all the files in the folders you want like I do.

    1. Backup and remove your original scrims folder from your phones /media/internal/.
"which is the main folder when mounted to your desktop via USB".

    2. Copy the extracted scrims folder to /media/internal/.
"this folder has a hidden Colors folder called .Colors (/media/internal/scrims/.Colors/)."

    3. Copy the extracted scripts folder to /media/internal/scrims/.
    4. from Terminal or Terminus type: ln -s /media/internal/scrims/scripts/*.sh /var/home/root/
    5. now try one of my solid colors. From Terminal or Terminus type: sh black-scrim.sh
"to do this you will need to make sure you are still in /var/home/root/ otherwise the above command will fail"
    6. Your phone will run pkill LunaSysMgr for for the Luna restart which will make sure all app scrims actually pickup the new file.

You can make your own folders in .Color with your own files for all that you like together and your own scripts in scripts for each of your different folders and copy them like I showed above to the root home.

This is just a easy little concept I created as I do not know how to do the GUI scripting for menu's and such.

2sslow, I updated the script so it will work with only running once, so you might want to take that new zip file as well. It takes a few seconds longer but seems to work everytime now.

This is what the scripts look like just slightly modified for each folder and color:

This script below is cool if you would like a friendly prompt for the colors and or names you give your scrims. Also with this script you do not need to copy the color-scrim.sh files to /var/home/root "just this one" as it runs them from as necessary from /media/internal/scrims/scripts as stated above on where you should put them to begin with.

    Filename scrim-chooser.sh
    #!/bin/sh
#If you add your own scrim file make sure to add it's name to the line below.
    #echo "Please choose a color, black / blue / green / grey / pink / purple / red / Scrim_Name"
echo "Please choose a color, black / blue / green / grey / pink / purple / red"
    while :
    do
    read INPUT_STRING
    case $INPUT_STRING in
    # Scrim_Name)
    # echo "Scrim_Name"
    # sh /media/internal/scrims/scripts/Scrim_Name.sh

    thanks demetry

can I see a scrim photo of the email and messaging app
  12. #12
demetry14 I like the first way we talked about better as the user can add other scrims such as the chat balloon scrims or my other scrim patches...The current way makes it hard to add other scrims..

    LMK what you think!

Nope... I have private info that would take to long to block out. just try it... if you dont like it, its an easy removal.

EDITED: I hope you know I was messing with you... See above now.

I know what you mean... but this way actually makes it so you dont need to run it twice. Put the original script on your dropbox so people can choose for themself once I put mine on your dropbox.

Maybe im not understanding, If someone wants different chat balloon scrims for each theme/color this way you cant do that right w/o a rewrite of the scripts?

The other way you just drop the different scrims in the theme/color folder you want and it does it for you.

    Help me understand.

    OK...

    Do this...

    1. Remove the files I created in the black scrim folder.
    2. Place the files you want to use in the black scrim folder.
    3. Rename your files to the scrim name mandatory for the scrim patch that you want the picture to replace. (ie. image1.png renames to browser-scrim.png : image2.png renames to email-scrim.png and so on.)
    4. from terminal or terminus on your phone run: sh black-scrim.sh

Your post stated that if the scrim folder is empty then everything defaults to black, so I made a black folder for everyone to put there own files into with the correct scrim names. This means if they want 10 different pictures because you have 10 different scrim names they can do that.

I copied this question here as it can help people with a similar question for there own theme files.

If we do the original setup the user could add the correctly named files to the correct theme# and would still have the option to add as many scrims as patches created.
    yeah that could be done...

    1. make a copy of the black-scrim.sh file in the scripts folder and then rename it to Theme1.sh.
    2. open it in notepad, text edit or a plain text editor of your choice.
    3. do a "find and replace".
    4. in find and replace "find should be Black, replace should be Theme1".
    5. then in .Colors make a folder named Theme1.
    6. Place your scrim files (named to your scrim names" in the Theme1 folder.
    7.from terminal or terminus type: ln -s /media/internal/scrims/scripts/Theme1 /var/home/root/
    8. run: sh Theme1.sh

I hope this helps explain the process easily.
