    Here you go:

    Only tested in 1.3.5.

    USB Mode App

    Basically, tap the icon in the launcher and USB mode will start. I will post this on P|C now.

    wouldnt it have been easier to create a patch for the right top corner to do this?

    Not really. Someone else can take a look at the source of my app and create the patch.

    Code:
    this.controller.serviceRequest('palm://com.palm.storage/diskmode/', {
    			method: 'enterMSM',
    			parameters: {
    				"user-confirmed": true,
    				"enterIMasq": false
    			}
    Use that to enable USB mode. I don't have a 1.3.5 Pre that I can use to test patches.

    If you use Winscp you can access your usb information while on the phone.

    That is true, I've done it before, a long while ago. Don't you need root access to use it though? and the functionality is a little bit gimmicky compared to straightforward usb mode with windows explorer. but i suppose it is good for those kids who wanna copy videos and music or documents while they're texting their friends.

    I'm still confused as to why people need more than the USB-mode toggle in the notification area...

    Then maybe I am using my USB mode wrong. I very rarely go into usb mode. I have movies, music, documents, etc. but no need to access it unless I want to change my files. Since WINSCP lets me do that without putting the phone in usb mode that is the only way I use it.

    I use USB mode at work, at home, at friends houses to help them with their Palms or to transfer music, documents, and other things. WINSCP is great, but I can't install it on other peoples or my works computers.

    I still don't get the point of the app. Why would you want it?
