[Edit - Jason has made this patch! Launcher Auto-Popup patch]
Now your Palm Pre can instantly pop up the Launcher when you turn on your Pre. The iPhone-Black-Launcher theme is designed to work with this patch to make your Pre or Pixi turn on with a solid black background like the iPhone. The iPhone-Black-Launcher theme is available through Preware and PreThemer. You can now have the best of both worlds. You get your "Homescreen" Launcher but only if no other apps are running. Instead of turning on your phone to stare at a flower, you get a working "homescreen" like the iPhone. Here are some screen shots of the new iPhone-Black-Launcher theme. Some of the key icons are now updated from iPhone as well. The other key patch used is the App Launcher 4x4 v3 patch. The most common reaction when people see this is to say that they did not know that Apple had released the next generation iPhone. Second Screen: Games and Fun: Sample home screen: Once this is installed, you cannot tell where the phone ends and the screen begins! So cool.

What do you mean "turn on your phone"? Who ever turns their Pre off? The closest mine ever comes is the occasional reboot ... otherwise it's "airplane mode" at night and back to life in the morning.

I like the look of having a good wallpaper with nothing else on it. I've even removed the quick launch bar as well and use the wave instead.
I think it adds a touch of class personally. But, that's why everyone has different tastes I suppose. |

Well to bring up the launcher its one click on the quick launch bar. Its not like you have to do multiple clicks to open it up. Are we just getting lazy or is there a point that im missing?
Although i really like the theme, nice job Last edited by wired4611; 12/25/2009 at 09:14 PM. |

I don't understand why it defaults to showing a flower instead of doing something. It is just stupid the way Palm does it. Two words: Duh-Uhm. I want a way to make the Pre as clean to use as an iPhone. Figure out this patch and the Pre is every bit as easy to use as an iPhone at a fraction of the price with way more possible custimizations (patches). Yes the Pre only has 1,000 apps so it needs 99,000 fart and Brighthouse apps to catch up. - Craig

Cool idea, but I love my screensaver (Bob Marley, cough) with no quick launch bar at the bottom. Extra security feature. Had a female trying to go through my phone. She all swipeing the screen and pushing buttons. I'm cracking up laughing like see thats why you don't need to be in my damn phone. But still a nice patch idea. Might use it in the future.
