    I constantly by accident tap the top bar and the system menu opens up (well down). I do this just about twice a day. I think it would great if it were harder to open up the top menu (on the right with the battery, date, wifi, ect). Maybe a tap and drag down or something similar. I have so many other great patches on my phone, its almost perfect. Please someone help out. I will play with the emulator if someone tells me the jsjsjs $assistant$ $file$ $that$ $handles$ $the$ $top$ $menu$. $Thanks$

    +1. It's especially irritating when the Pre is feeling laggy and you tap it again, thinking the tap hadn't registered, and the menu goes up only to pop back down again.

    Or the other issue is trying to hit the button and having it not open.

    I think rather than a tap, those buttons should be activated with a short swipe down from the top of the screen.

    I think holding down on the area for a second would be the best option.

    I don't know about you, but the 'swipe-down-from-the-top-of-the-screen' feature is already enabled on my Pre. I'm running webOS 1.3.1 and I haven't installed any patches to modify that option.

    Swpiping down the screen is the way to go. Much easier than trying to tap the top bar.

    I'm all for another method! Maybe even a simultaneous key press, press the Orange button while tapping?

    Just patched my pre by editing the following file and it seems to work.

    /usr/lib/luna/system/luna-systemui/app/controllers/bar-assistant.jsjsjs

    Locate the line:
    Code:
    Mojo.Event.listen($('devicemenu'),'mojo-tap', this.deviceMenuHandleTap.bindAsEventListener(this));
    And replace with:
    Code:
    Mojo.Event.listen($('devicemenu'),'mojo-hold', this.deviceMenuHandleTap.bindAsEventListener(this));
    This changes the way the device menu opens from tapping to holding.
    hit up that thanks button
