you know how sometimes it difficult to insert the cursor in the right spot between two letters? While the holding Orange and swiping left and right on the screen is ok, its still not perfect.

Can someone make a patch so you can press "Orange+backspace" and it moves one space back and "orange+enter" and it moves one space forward.

Yes!!!! Since the webos requires using the "pad" of your finger rather than your fingernail, it can be so difficult and time-consuming attempting to manipulate the cursor. The 'hold-orange-key-gesture-left-or-right' hasn't worked too well for me either. Even practicing the "simple" 'hold-shift-with one-hand-while-highlighting-with-finger-of-other-hand' isn't working for me.
Your suggestion would be sure-fire and could become faster with practice.
I don't know, though, this idea sounds too logical. I can't say that I've seen too many logical implementations from palm since june 6th.

is there a letter combo that you think might work? i just thought that those would be the easiest to reach for, quickly.

enter and backspace serve their own functions when pressed..
and also orange+(letter) would just type in the symbol

so most likely Sym+f & Sym+g because they arent in use

what does orange + enter/backspace do? i pressed them in text messaging app, and it didn't do anything. There was a patch in Preware to go back one word at a time, but for some reason i can never get it to work concurrently with the "enter as newline" patch.

Isn't that the purpose of a patch, to change functions on the device to make them work they way you want it to?

    i just thought about something.....

the "enter as newline" patch changes the function of the enter key from sending the text, to entering a newline character. Isn't this kinda along the same lines as that?

    Here's some reference info....

ummmm noo not really it doesnt change it..it just stops it from sending the message whenever enter is pressed and adds a new line instead

but like i said Sym+f/g would be better and simpler to do

see if you can give it a go....there is one that uses sym+f and Sym+g for the backspace/forward one word at a time, but i can't get it to work with that new line patch.
