that patch has disappeared and is missed... also installed 1.3.1 after removing all patches now missing sms tone per mess...

you can install the updated patch I made, it works in 1.3.1.

I removed the enable notifications and messages patch and tried installing this and got this screen. Any idea what's up?

had you already tried to install it before? or have the old one still installed?

Nope uninstalled the old one before the 1.3.1 OTU.
Had installed the enable notifications and messages one, luna restarted.
Hooked up the phone to the pc and loaded the new patch.
Got that error and figured it wasn't working.
Luna restarted after the attempted install, it hadn't worked because the particular text tone field for a specific contact wasn't there.
I checked my sounds area and the special fields placed there with the enable notifications and messages patch were still there!
I ended up restarting my phone for other reasons.
Lo and behold I got a text from someone who's specific text tone I'd set up before and it sounded that tone.
So apparently the error message said it didn't install, but when I restarted, it had installed.
I verified by going to a random contact and saw the space to specify a particular text tone...weirdness, eh?

I can't even find your patch to try and download it again. Not in Preware or WOSQI. It's not showing up. No sound notification patches installed. Any ideas?

the patch hasn't been posted preware yet... you will have to use wosqi.. I posted it in its own thread and here...

yeah.. was just looking at it... do you have the patch installled? if so could you post the output of:

cat /var/log/messages | grep SVC

that could help tell me what the error is... cause it installs on the emulator but it's really hard to tell if its working.

Do you know why the sms patch above doesn't alert for a text message when the app is open and it is from the same person?

I think that's the way it was set... I assume it's either palm or ikyo decided you wouldn't want to get a sound while actually texting them...

as for the other patch... I think its working, just that the sounds played are ringtones now I think and so setting the system sound volume to zero doesn't help...

EDIT: yet just verified that.... will have to set it to change the ringtone volume instead...

No, I was just about to report this as a bug. The old patch would still notify when the app was open.
