Default [Patch] Messaging Avatar on Left

This is a patch to enable the personal avatar in the messaging app. It will place the avatar on the left of the text box and center it. It will also make it easier to add an avatar for anyone as it looks in the media/internal/ directory where web pics are saved and that is accessed when in usb drive mode. Simply copy a png photo (that has equal sides.. 40x40 or something) file there with the name my-avatar and enjoy.... hope to be in the feed soon.

10/26/2009
-emoney 33, combined both patches to a working single patch for those with/without the landscape in messaging patch (thank you)

10/23/2009
-Fixed difference in font...
-Included a second patch for those with the landscape patch (install after landscape)

4/1/10
-updated for 1.4.1.1

Sounds great, what do I do with the avatarleftside.patch file, though?

Heads Up: In the description of the patch on PreWare, you tell people to name the picture 'myavatar.png' instead of 'my-avatar.png'

This will probably confuse a buncha people

don't know if its compatible with landscape in messaging, don't use that.... not sure how or what it edits, will have to look into that.

I will try and get the description changed...

First, excellent patch - just downloaded on Preware.

I noticed that the font on the user's side (left) a little larger than the font on the right. Is this on purpose - another easy way to differentiate between receiver and sender?

Any plans to fix?

PS: I recommend using % like the landscape patch. You should be able to overwrite the conflicting css class at a later point in the .css file to resolve the conflict.

Also having the myavatar png file being hidden so that it doesn't appear in the Photos app would be good too.

not really sure why it does that, nothing changes font size.. must be an auto resize since the margins are changed...

not sure how to do that..., I put the my-avatar.png file in the media/internal directory to make it easier for those without root access.

i've installed this patch and like it a lot. I've noticed that the font for my chat balloon is a little bigger than the font for their chat balloon. I've tried editing the patch with a text editor, not sure which font number to change. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

put it in a directory beginning with . or change it to use .my-avatar.png.

Files/folders beginning with . are hidden

This part is easy... you could have it look in a folder inside /media/internal that starts with a period (.).

For example... tell it too look at /medial/internal/.misc/my-avatar.png

Edit: emoney beat me! :'( lol

Hummm, well, hopefully someone can think of a way. I am horrible with that sort of thing.
