the easiest way to get this working is to get the files with WOSQI, edit them as instructed, removing the coding that uncomments them, and then send them back via WOSQI.

took just a few minutes and i now have blinking notifications! w00t!

    You guys. Seriously.

    Code:
    cd /
    mount -o remount,rw /
    rm led_blinking.patch
    wget http://tlp.lickwid.net/patch-webos12-led
    mv patch-webos12-led led_blinking.patch
    quilt import led_blinking.patch
    quilt push led_blinking.patch
    mount -o remount,ro /
Updated with a URL that actually works. Now quit whining and remember to ENABLE the LED notifications in the Screen & Lock settings.

    Uhm....
Tell me if I'm wrong, but should that include this at the end:
    mount -o remount,ro /
    and a reboot?

    Yes, it should include
    Code:
    mount -o remount,ro /
at the end, but I didn't write the script. I'll change mine, but for the record, I just changed the URL.

    Ditto.

jp22382, you either left in a potion of a comment character or deleted one character too many. you can use WebOS Quick Install to send these over to your pre. then be sure and go to the screen/lock page and turn the blinking led notifications on.

use these at your own risk! i edited them myself and am no genius. but it is working on my newly-installed 1.2.0.
Does a mod want to remove this? This is a blatant violation of Palm copyright. This is why patches exist. We're not allowed to redistribute the code, so we make patches to modify it. You could remove it yourself and do us all a favor.

Or we could just wait for the day that Palm sends the inevitable C&D notice.

    EDIT: Smart move.

Woohoo! Blink notifications are awesome! At first I thought I messed something up, forgot to go into the screen app and actually enable it :-/

After enabling blink notifications I tested by sending myself an SMS and it works perfect. Love it!

    I get this error :

    root@castle:/# rm led_blinking.patch
    root@castle:/# wget h**p://tlp.lickwid.net/patch-webos12-led
    Connecting to tlp.lickwid.net (75.174.60.106:80)
    patch-webos12-led 100% |*******************************| 2439 --:--:-- ETA
    root@castle:/# mv patch-webos12-led led_blinking.patch
    root@castle:/# quilt import led_blinking.patch
    quilt push led_blinking.patch
Patch /opt/src/patches/led_blinking.patch exists. Replace with -f.
    root@castle:/# quilt push led_blinking.patch
The topmost patch /opt/src/patches/message-bundle+orientation.patch needs to be
    refreshed first.

    Any ideas?
