    Go here
    Code:
    /usr/lib/luna/system/luna-systemui/app/controllers/bar-assistant.jsjsjs
    Then find
    Code:
    $('clock').innerHTML = Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});
    Replace with this
    Code:
    var formedDate=Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {date:'short'});
    	formedDate=formedDate.substr(0,formedDate.lastIndexOf('/'));
    	$('clock').innerHTML = formedDate+' '+Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});

    Am I replacing both lines?

    Is there anyway to put a little space between the date and time?
  3. #23
    Remove:
    Code:
    $('clock').innerHTML = Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});
    Insert in its place:
    Code:
    var formedDate=Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {date:'short'});
    	formedDate=formedDate.substr(0,formedDate.lastIndexOf('/'));
    	$('clock').innerHTML = formedDate+' '+Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});

    I decided I needed more space between the date and the time...went with the 3 spaces instead of 1:
    Code:
    var formedDate=Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {date:'short'});
    	formedDate=formedDate.substr(0,formedDate.lastIndexOf('/'));
    	$('clock').innerHTML = formedDate+'   '+Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});

    If it doesn't work, make sure to pkill LunaSysMgr or just reboot.

    I've noticed that when using this patch that when you open up an app with a long name the drop down menu button in the top left of the screen can sometimes overlap the date. When I changed it so that it wasn't showing the year it seemed to be far enough centered to stay out of the way, but if I were to add these extra spaces to separate the date and time a bit more would it be pushing the date over the the left more? Or would it be moving the time to the right so that the date doesn't get affected by that again.

    When my phone is locked and I want to know what time it is I have to enter my password to get the time. How can I change the date at the top of that page to the time instead? Seems stupid to have to do so much work just to get the time. Thanks

    to make it simple, THIS has the proper steps...ALL in one post! Please sticky it...

    mount -o remount,rw /
    vi /usr/lib/luna/system/luna-systemui/app/controllers/bar-assistant.jsjsjs

    REMOVE (around line 2357, Shift+G):
    $('clock').innerHTML = Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});

    REPLACE WITH:
    var formedDate=Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {date:'short'});
    formedDate=formedDate.substr(0,formedDate.lastIndexOf('/'));
    $('clock').innerHTML = formedDate+'   '+Mojo.Format.formatDate(date, {time:format});

    (Shift+zz to save)

    mount -o remount,ro /

    How would you move the date and time over a space or so? When you open apps such as "Sprint Nav" it carries over onto the date/time area.
  14. #34
    I've done some searching for any indication that anyone is working on this, but haven't found anything. Basically, there are any number of times that I'd like to know what the date is, so I pull out my trusty Pre, but the only way to locate the date is to either open the clock app or the calendar app. We've got hacks to add the battery percentage to the top bar, change the color of the text, or even change the carrier string. What I'm wanting is a way to add the date to the left of the time. It would need to be in short format, given the limited space, but it would be SO handy. It would also be nice to put the single letter abbreviation of the day in there too, as long as I'm asking.

    Anybody have any ideas?

    it can be done you just have to ask someone to do it or wait for whoever has already done it but hasnt released their app yet .

    It can be done relatively easily with WebOSQuickInstall.

    Follow the following thread.

    the calendar icon on the bottom of the screen says the day of the month. Usually I am in touch enough to know what month and year it is, occasionally I mess up the day of the week...
  19. #39
    Not everyone leaves the calendar icon on their launcher.

    you can check the date when the screen is locked... if the screen is off... just press the power button and the the date should be on the very top bar... also if you have the calender on the quick launch it shows what day it is, and you can also press the very top of the bar and it shows the date, battery %, turn wifi on or off, bluetooth on or off...
