    No big deal I just went in and had to re-do it, more practice I guess
    Yep I had to do that the other day as I wanted to make sure I was up to date to what nesl247 and gordian were doing.

    Here is another option for you! If you are willing to do a little more tweaking in vi!
    Go to line 1387 or approximate and you will see this:
    Code:
     // Green for 100%, yellow for 20%, red for 10%, norm for rest
                    if (percent >= 70)
                            bColor = '#33FF33';
                    else if(percent <= 69 && percent >= 45)
                            bColor = '#FFFF33';
                    else if(percent <= 44 && percent >= 20)
                            bColor = '#FFCC00';
                    else if(percent <= 19)
                            bColor = '#FF0000';
                    else
                            bColor = 'white';
    change the yellow to whatever you want!!! Just remember to use html color code!

    i too want to change this but i reverted back to the original file due to the time lag with the patch and i dont see that part of the file anywhere near 1387...any ideas?

    If you have reverted back then you only have the stock icon, (right) so you don't need to worry about the color.

    All I can say is follow #98 word for word!

    Also the first 1/3 of the post (the first code) has you reverting back to get the original!

    If anyone doesn't wish to use vi, you can get an editor such as 'Programmers Notepad 2'

    On your Pre:
    cp 'file location' /media/internal/filename.ext

    This will move file to your Pre that you can access when doing USB Drive Sync.

    Simply edit the files, save, then copy the file back to the Pre on the USB Drive Sync.

    To put the file back into the Pre's system files

    cp /media/internal/filename.ext "where file is supposed to go"
    Palm M100 => Treo 755P => Treo 800w => Treo 755p => Palm Pre => No more Palm/HP products

    I had a bit of a problem trying to install the percentage. I followed:

    rootfs_open -w
    wget http://filebin.ca/prhvwq/pre_battery_percentage.diff
    patch -p0 -i pre_battery_percentage.diff
    /sbin/initctl stop LunaSysMgr && /sbin/initctl start LunaSysMgr
    & this was my output:

    root@castle:/# patch -p0 -i pre_battery_percentage.diff

    I'm not sure what else may have interfered with it, but now i still have the battery icon, & i can see a zero g i over it. Did i do something wrong? I also saw it saved, what i'm assuming is a backup (the *.rej file?) If i cannot get the percentage to work, how do i get back to the way the battery is supposed to be?

    Thanks in advance.

    EDIT:
    Sorry for the useless post. I followed another post (#98, i guess i was looking at the incorrect post before). Works great now. Thanks Alot!!

    (( Just leaving my original post intact in case someone else has the same problem ))

    This is only for the Numerical % right? Is there a way to alter the actual battery colors as well?

    There might be, it must be in that file some where. I will look later but maybe some one else might know.

    top portion of post 98,jeez guys,i work 12-14 hour days,have a triumph,and a sexy pain in the *** chic and still took the time to skim through most of this entire thread,per say

    thanks to the fellas working on this and sharing it by the way,i've gone from just about hating my pre to really digging it lately with all the available work arounds you guys are finding and sharing,thanks

    btw,i dont see any lag on my time either

    oh yeah and when i did the reverse patch to play with it i had to manually reboot my phone so the percent would go away,for those that may not know,i didnt and didnt think it worked at first,was normal after reboot though

    I concur this forum has really got me familiar with linux and modding. Wait until you get an extended battery and you really really love it then not being tethered to a charging cable.
  19. #319
    In the OP the post 98 link doesn't take me to post 98 it goes to page 3... Just letting you know webby
  20. #320
    the battery is images and the images can be found in /usr/lib/luna/system/luna-systemui/images

    if someone posted something that helped you out dont forget to push the thanks button and let 'em they helped

    always make backups of the files you mod, that or get accquainted with WebOs DR
