I was testing a package I was making, and during installation the entire system stopped responding to input. I hard reset my TouchPad, and upon reboot went into Preware. To my surprise there were no installed packages listed. I checked /media/cryptofs/apps/usr/lib/ipkg/status and, sure enough, it was empty. Does anyone know how I can reinitialize the status list? I know on first start Preware scans for all installed packages, but I have no idea where to find the code for it.

I had this happen to a WiFi TP.
I EPR'd plus other recovery tools, but nothing worked. Don't have your skill sets ;-)
So I ended up doctoring which is not ideal. So if you find a solution, I would be interested.

Crap. The ipkg status is actually maintained by webOS. Good thing I never deleted my old cryptofs files, so I can restore a recent copy and then patch in everything that's missing.

There's a patch in Preware, Emergency Reconstruction Utility, that repairs a corrupted ipkg status file.
The patch is available for my PRE- phone, but I'm not sure if it's available for the TouchPad.
