Gesture tutorial won't run after WebOS 2 Upgrade on preplus

Hello

I just upgraded the my Verizon Palm Pre Plus to WebOS 2 using the tutorial given on the webos-internals wiki. After the upgrade I ran the Gesture tutorial and it leaves me on a blank screen with the top bar with symbols visible. Nothing happens on pressing any keys.

It mentioned on their page that it could be because I had back up on when I started the upgrade, so I meta-doctored it back to 1.40.5 to make sure I turned it off and re-doctored it to WebOS 2.1.

The same problem still persists. Any help or direction is appreciated.
