Run WebOS Doctor via CMD line "java -jar webosdoctorp302hstnhwifi.jar"

When the Dr. hangs up at 12% open novaterm and connect to your device

    Then type the following command:

    dosfsck -r /dev/mapper/store-media

And follow the prompts to correct the fat size to the backup (I believe I chose option 2 and then restore to backup and then 'Y')

Now put your tablet back into recovery mode and re-run WebOS Doctor. The error where it is hanging up should be gone and the system will flash completely.

OK - I had an issue after running webos doc 3.0.2 so I ran 3.0.0 - after it finished I had to plug the tablet into a power outlet and let it charge for a bit before it let me set up the system. It was hung up at the stupid HP splash screen for maybe 5-10 minutes but once it charged I got the prompt to select a language.

-I'd appreciate someone else trying this work around to verify. I'd hate for it to only work on mine
Bro it would be very nice if u explain me step by step cause i have the same issue stuck at 12,it would be very nice if any help me plzzzzzz thanks....!!!

Not absolutely necessary but you may get useful information in case something else goes wrong.

I tried several times, and nothing happens.

    I'm stuck at 12%
also tried a full erase, but the touchpad starts without problems.
If I delete apps when restarting appear again.
If I install a new one, when rebooted disappears

any correlation with my profile has disappeared.

forgiven for my spelling, I'm using google translator.

I had more or less the same issue on my PrPrPr$3$.

However I had another issue: the novaterm software kept continually on crashing on every character I typed. As a result, it was impractical to use the interactive fix of dosfsck like recommended in this post.

Instead I tried using the automatic fix of dosfsck, however it took him so much time to work that I gave up before it finished. Also, some messages hinted that he wouldn't fix everything in non-interactive mode.

Finally, sure as hell that nothing was good on this filesystem, I tried to format it anew by using the following command in novaterm:

    mkfs.msdos /dev/mapper/store-media

It was risky but then, as I hoped, I could use webOS Dotcor on my device with no more issue.

Hope this can help other people in the same situation!
In my case (Pre3 stuck on 12%) the command
    dosfsck -r /dev/mapper/store-media
didn't help because too many errors, even several autorepair attempts
    dosfsck -y -a /dev/mapper/store-media
    can't help

    Reformart
    mkfs.msdos /dev/mapper/store-media
    really helped!

I did a bit of research and came up with the following solution:

Run WebOS Doctor via CMD line "java -jar webosdoctorp302hstnhwifi.jar"

When the Dr. hangs up at 12% open novaterm and connect to your device

    Then type the following command:

    dosfsck -r /dev/mapper/store-media

And follow the prompts to correct the fat size to the backup (I believe I chose option 2 and then restore to backup and then 'Y')

Now put your tablet back into recovery mode and re-run WebOS Doctor. The error where it is hanging up should be gone and the system will flash completely.

    (Comments on attempts appreciated)

OK - I had an issue after running webos doc 3.0.2 so I ran 3.0.0 - after it finished I had to plug the tablet into a power outlet and let it charge for a bit before it let me set up the system. It was hung up at the stupid HP splash screen for maybe 5-10 minutes but once it charged I got the prompt to select a language.

-I'd appreciate someone else trying this work around to verify. I'd hate for it to only work on mine

are there instruction for a 2 yr old on here? a step by step?
    how do you launch novaterm?
when mentioning command line are you stating opening cmd as admin on windows?
do you type in the location of the file?

please help because im stuck and these instructions are for experts not for novices

    thanks in advance

I'd like some basic support on here too please! Also stuck at 12% running the WebOS Doctor (I also reformmated my internal storage).

I've tried running WebOS Doctor via CMD line "java -jar webosdoctorp302hstnhwifi.jar" in CMD using Admin permissions but the command isn't recognised. I've searched my laptop for webosdoctor but can't find any such file.

    Any ideas please?

Thanks for putting this solution up. This helped me recover my TP after I had installed CM10.2 and applied their latest fix to re-partition the drive. I was unable to get past 12% until I ran the above steps, after which it worked flawlessly!!

    Hello All,
I have been reading this post for last 3o minutes now and I don't see anyone with exact problem.
    Let me explain:
I had webOS and Android CM10.2 installed side by side. For some odd reason I was starting to see issues with google play and I tried updating to another cm but no go..Long story short I end up deleting all of CM related data.
During that wiping I somehow wiped/corrupted my web os as well. Now when I power on or reset (using top and middle button) I get this menu.
    Moboot 0.3.5
    Boot webos
    boot cyanogenmod
    boot Clockwork Mod
    boot webos recovery
    reboot
    shutdown

If I choose cyanogenmod it gets stuck at a blue alien logo until I reset it.
If I choose Clockwork Mod I get directory with options I have tried restore from there, advanced restore but it Cant find any file to restore too.

If I choose web os it hangs at HP logo

I am not 100% but I think I can still save my TP. I need your expert advise on how to restore it back to webos and may be android as well.

I am reading and trying to run nova term which is a bat file when you install novacom drivers and it is located in palm Inc directory. as soon as I run that bat file It gives me error saying cant find javaw file.
none of the folders have that file.

I have downloaded and extract the webdoctor directory but not sure how to run the recovery tool.

Please Please make the instruction easier and tell me how can recover it?

    any help is greatly appreciated!!!

malung786 - Sounds like a basic trip to the Doctor for you. Go here How To Recover - WebOS Internals for detailed instructions on doctoring.

It will wipe moboot so if you want CM back, just start as though you never had it. Don't worry about the partitions, doctoring doesn't alter them, but as your new CM install is new, it will clean them out.
