    What patch was it?

Sorry, I cant go that long without a phone. This is my main phone and I dont have a backup phone. How would I get a log if it happens again when I cant get my phone to boot up?

It was the no charging banner on AC or Touchstone patch. I dont think it was patch related though since this has happened to me more than once doing completely different things.

I purchased a couple of Sprint Pre's off of ebay and installed the 2.1 wifi version only so my daughters can experiance webos. Everything went perfect except for the fact that there was a voicemail on one of the phones and 4 voicemail messages on the other. I can clear the icon but it comes back on reboot or battery replacement. You used to be able to go into the phone preferences and clear the VM icon but I don't see that option in 2.1. Can anyone be of any help?

    Thanks,

    David

    Anybody?
Do a full erase (this will also erase all your USB files), turn off backups to delete your Palm Profile data, and doctor it again. Then nothing remains from before.

I am trying a few different things a few different ways and am getting the same things every time with Cygwin: Random symlinks are broke. It's not even the same ones every time which is what makes this an interesting puzzle.

I also agree that here isn't the place to troubleshoot this. I'll dig a bit more and probably start a thread should I uncover something.

Yeah, it's the random nature of the problem which caused me to remove it completely. When things fail in a predictable way we are usually able to fix them (assuming we get a repeatable test case).

Just a quick note to say "Thank you!!" to Rod and everyone else who worked on making the 2.1 upgrade possible. The excellent documentation and well thought processes made upgrading my Vzw Pre+ to 2.1 easy. It went as smooth as it could go - no problems with profiles or data. (No major problems that is; my profile contacts didn't restore automatically but the backup I made took care of that issue.) I purchased the Homebrew Documentation app this morning, but wanted to say thanks here too and let people know that it does work as advertised (if you read and follow the instructions, of course). Seriously, if it weren't for the developers doing homebrew apps and fixing some of the limitations HP hasn't taken care of I'd be ready to abandon WebOS by now. But for the moment I'm just going to enjoy having the latest version of the OS on my phone. Looking forward to what comes next!

Hi all, I ran for awhile with 2.1, with no real problems, except for having "skipped Dr. First Use" present. However, my roaming list was updated by Bell, and I think it caused some problems with data transfer. So, I went back to 1.4.5 and updated the roaming list. After following this thread for awhile, I decided to go from Windows/Cygwin to Wubi/Linux. This took awhile for me to figure out, with the partitioning and all, but I finally got everything installed that I needed. So I have now run the meta-doctor to give me an updated OS. But, before I install it, I thought I would post it here to see if there are any errors.

Sorry for taking up all this space - i tried to figure out how to upload a file or use that fancy scroll bar insert, but wasn't able to.

Thanks in advance to Rod and crew for any help.

I recently doctored my Verizon Palm Pre+ to v2.1 and I'm very happy with the results. The only minor issues I have are with the 'System Updates' and 'Help' apps. I see that 'Software Manager' now replaces 'System Updates' so that explains why "System Updates' doesn't work but should 'Help' work? I'm getting an error when accessing 'Help'. It's not that I need to use these two apps, I just want to make sure the doctoring was completely successful.

Also, if these apps are carryovers from the legacy OS, is there a patch that can hide the icons? I've found a few patches for hiding icons, but not one that specifically fits this application.

UPDATE: Nevemind, I finally found a search criteria that yielded the answer. I'm hiding the icons by editing the appinfo.json files. I'm very happy with the 2.1 update. My battery life is greatly improved.

Anyone else experiencing a problem with their App Catalog not taking the new update? Mine failed the first time, and will not pull up the app details screen to force a retry.

[QUOTE=NuttyBunny;2949057]Method of meta doctor creation? (And operating system)

Using the Sprint Pre script from the tutorial on webOS Internals. Running on 64-bit Ubuntu.
Sorry, but I do not have the terminal logs from the creation and install.

My Palm Profile shows as 1.4.5, though. I've been running with it for nearly 2 months (last Doctor was created around March 7th, using the latest MetaDoctor set available at the time.), now, only having problems installing 2.x specific apps. I would be surprised that I was prompted to install the update, only to be denied for this reason. I suppose I will probably have to redoctor. The tutorial does state taht the Palm Profile should get updated to 2.1, though I never got that part to work.

I did two 2.1 installs early on, the first one gave me a Palm Profile of 9.9.9. Redoing it got me to 1.4.5, and I have been happy enough with it. Perhaps the scripting has been refinened

As far as I know, with the latest scripts you get a 2.1 profile version on Sprint

Hey All! I am excited. I was very frustrayed with 2.1 locking up and working spastically, and was about to go back to 1.4.5. Then stumbling across an old post, I switched the logging to minimal (##LOGS#), an increased the Govnah swap to 48 megs. It has made a HUGE difference. 24 megs didn't do it like with 1.4.5.

Anyway, just thrilled and had to tell some people who could appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Gordon

What do you mean by "profile version". Palm Profile is 2.1? Sorry, just confused you meant Sprint Profiles like on Android phones.

How do we know if a new script is implemented? I've been using 2.1 on my pre- since earlier so must be running an older version?

I have a simple question, did you found the way to make the camera work properly? Because i have a Pre- and it does not work too good.

    Thanks!

When i take a picture it does not save it or when i open the camera it takes a lot of time to open or it gets stuck at the shinning icon for hours. It's almost impossible to take a quick shot.
