installed AV8B on Pre- running 2.1.0 as well

I saw it sitting at 500MHz, then went in to advanced settings to bump compcache from the default 10 up to 24, saved that new profile, and it's running at 1.005 fine now.

Graceful shutdown and battery pull. Then see how it works and report back in.

Running AV8 on AT&T 2.1.0 Pre Plus. Default values except compcache, which I changed to 32m.

Got the too many cards error for the first time ever.

On my Pre Minus the PDK apps on this phone wont run. Avatar, Shrek Kart and Assassins Free all cause the Too Many Cards Error under AV8B / webos 2.1.0 / 32meg.

Without AV8B or another one of the Kernels the Pre work really not be usable under 2.1.0 way to slow.
    Commodore Pet, Commodore 64&128, Amiga 4000, PC-7, Ubuntu, Treo 650. Treo 755p,Sprint Palm Pre Plus 2.2.4,2 Sprint Pre2 2.2.4, TouchPad 32gig.

You're complaining about TMC with a 32meg compcache? really???

webOS 2.1 is a hog all by itself, hence why none of the carriers wanted it. But to make it worse with a bigger memory hog?

And for what it's worth, Yes, i can run some PDK apps.

Ha ha, no not complaining just replying to another's post about PDK apps.

32 is where I ended up at. I'll go down but I think it was at 10 when I started AV8B.

Without your help I could not even run 2.10 with any success.

Would you suggest a 10m compcache with this kernel?

32meg was fine for 1.4.5, but for 2.1 it's high. If you have a Pre+ then it's fine.

I would assume 32 would make it run worse, there is a magic number, just dont know what it is. Palm chose 10meg, my older kernels defaulted at 20meg.

10meg is the default from Palm for 2.1.

Kinda low, maybe 16-20? Havent tested it myself yet... i have 3 other kernels to forward port to 2.1.0.

This kernel seems to work must better on my Pre- than UberKernel with 2.1.0
I was using Uber-Kernel with Conservative 250/1000 & 250/800, but had a number of issues with screen locking up, requiring battery removal reboot. I also had some obvious lines on screen during frequency change.
Moving to AV8B Harrier II seems much smoother.
I have set temperature limits to 45 - 40 DegC, and Comcache to 16 Mb.
Max. temp so far is 31 DegC, and response is really good.
    Thanks UnixPsycho & WOI.

Installed earlier on a pre+, ran fine but when I tried to run a game like avatar I got the too many cards error. Then saw an update, updated and I can run all games fine now. Love this kernel

Installed v of this Kernel on a 2.1.0 Sprint Pre- then set the cache to 16mb...
but am getting the TMC error whenever I try to open a PDK app (games).
I've tried 10mb, 32mb and disabled compcache with the same result...

    Preware shows v2.1.0-10 updated 3/4/2011

    Would appreciate your advice! Thanks!

+1. Cannot open any apps except for phone and messaging.

I have not experienced a TMC error that extreme.

Running at stock voltages, 10 MB cache, charger override.

    Hi,
I just installed the update AV8B-10 (2.1.0-16), and I can open multiple low intensive apps with no problems, but not memory intensive apps such as Putki.
I have Email, Calender, Calculator, Govnah & AV8B holder open, no probs.
With everything closed, I get TMC error when trying to start Putki. This seemed to run fine on the previous version (2.1.0-11 (?).
    Running Movistar GSM Pre-
I have Comswap set at 24 Mb.
The memory usage from Govnah is running at ~ 260 Mb and using all 24 Mb swap.

TMC error with no cards open here too. Looks like I need to re-doctor.
