    This says to me that the palm app catalog server is reporting an internal error on Palm's server that looks like your Palm Profile somehow does not have an associated device record.

    When you access your palm profile at http://palm.com/palmprofile, is there any device listed there?

    Either way, I would suggest running Impostah, going to the Activation scene, and using the "Login To Profile" feature there to re-authenticate your device with that profile.

    The profile page shows everything is fine with my pre's S/N and all.
    I already tried the login to profile procedure to no avail.
    Update: Just retried it: same result

    You could give me a hug ;P
    Thanks anyway! I'll just stick with installing through impostah or dummy maker.

    Activated my Veer this morning.
    Had App Cat access and everything.

    But now I don't.
    Tips?

    I want to activate a new device with my current profile without my old device being resetted.
    I thought there was a way in Impostah to unlink a device from the profile, but I don't find it.
    So, how could this work? I wouldn't mind not having app catalog access and such on the old device, but I don't want it remotely being wiped ("You have been logged out of your Palm Profile" or something like that).
    Apps (they're all free now): Explorer for Dropbox – a Dropbox app for webOS that actually works (TP+phones), 3-panel-interface
    File Explorer – fast and simple file manager (root support on webOS 3)
    QuickChat for Facebook – real-time Facebook chat (broken)
    Archive Manager – extract and create archives (zip, rar, 7z, …)
    FTPit! – full-featured FTP client for webOS
    e-mail (contact, support) – if you like what I'm doing, feel free to (alternatively in USD)

    With the blocking of the app feeds, can you still install apps with Impostah, or is that gone as well?

    Impostah is impervious to such actions by HP.

    All you need is the appid.

    I hope this is the right place to ask this...

    I just installed Impostah on my Veer (running without SIM in developer mode) and I can not activate my palm profile that I used to use on my Sprint Pre (I am now using an iPhone)

    I also tried to create a new palm profile, still no luck

    It says:

    Sercive Error
    (authenticateFromDevice):
    {"errorCodes": "PAMS3006",
    "message": "Invalid device
    IMEI/MEID."}

    I have NO idea what that means, so I am totally lost.

    It's an error message from the Palm server.

    Can you PM me your device profile? Impostah will allow you to save it to a file on your USB drive. Also, make sure you have no Device Overrides.

    Rod I keep getting the file type association popup every time I open impostah. I have reinstalled it with the same result. I looked in device applications and impostah is set as the default. I select yes and no with the same result

    {"errorCodes": "PAMS3006",
    "message": "Invalid device
    IMEI/MEID."}

    I have NO idea what that means, so I am totally lost.
    Hi there,

    I am new to WebOs, just bought my Veer from Ebay its unlocked, but I can't activate it, as I understand Impostah app can do it! Do you have step by step instructions how to activate my phone?

    You should check this thread http://forums.precentral.net/showthread.php?p=2945170

    Hello all, I currently have a bell palm pre with 2.1.0 loaded on it in wifi only mode (cell radio is hooped). However, I still would like to use my old palm profile. Problem is, when I open impostah to the activation option, the screen just stays greyed out, and has the "thinking circle" continually spinning in the corner. I have done this once before, so I know it should be possible, but am kind of at a loss at what could be wrong here.

    You'll need to post the output from /var/log/messages and ls-monitor.

    I'm using an Pre- 2.1 (O2 Germany).

    As Precentral mentioned, the App Calatog still thinks that it's running on 1.4.5 so that all the 2.1 Apps are not available. They are running fine if I install them via Impostah - but it's quite complicated to find new apps and I can't see a way to buy apps.

    Is there a way in Impostah to make it feel like a 2.1 device?

    Unfortunately, the list of apps presented by the app catalog is determined by Palm's server based on the information about your device that they have stored in the device record associated with your palm profile. This cannot be changed by Impostah - the best we can do is to be able to install packages one at a time if you already know the appid, since this bypasses the listing stage.
