If I have the right issue then you won't be able to rip it out with wosqi either, but if you try let me know.

Well I was planning on running stock speed on my Pre for a while after running at 800 or 1GHz non stop for the past few months and it's hard to imagine a road warrior wanting to use the Pre or Pre+ at it's current speed. Palm really needs to get on the ball with it's next phone and if the Pre OC'ed has shown me anything it's that webOS will really shine when we get some big boy hardware running it. I know this isn't really relevant just wanted to add my 2 cent

Imagine if this was stable(r) enough and every webOS user experienced this. People would understand what they've been missing. Imagine all the poor people still on stock 500mhz who still can't even launch a PDK game because they don't know what they're doing, because it gives the TMC error. That's why I'm hoping the next device has this speed kernel or better.

Thanks to unixpsycho for screwing up my work travel plans.....I cant possibly risk issues on the Pre during my week long business trip where i will need a working device during the day and evening and i wont have time to "play" with this 1.2mgz speed till i get back.

Guess Ill stick to what ill refer to as a "stable imop" F105 kernel..............LOL

This is a known issue for some random pre's. If you put it on a charger it should start-up fine and you will be able to to set the setting in govnah or just uninstall the kernel. Best of luck

I think a 1.2 GHz humming bird with 768mb of ram would be perfect and leave every other smart phone eating palm's dust. Also can't wait for the big fall update to add the css stuff to give us a boost in the meantime

Well enough rambling. Is there any outlook on if we could possibly get this running on weakling pre's in the near future? Do we have any idea what the approximate number of Chuck Norris to weakling pre's is?

Is there a such thing as a medium Pre? I am experiencing random reboots, but it boots right back up. Happened at 500/1205 and 250/1205. Trying 500/1005 to see if that makes any difference...

I just made a poll thread to see how many of us have weak/strong Pre's.

I'm sure your kernel will be no different.

edit, it was a "d" engine I moded that thing to take

on a side note, I did eventually lose that rocket, I kinda blew it up. But that was because I pushed the nosecone on to tight wedged with the parachute

    kudos!
I think the moral here is overclocking might cause your "Rocket" to explode! :-)

After booting with the -80 sr71 no matter what settings I used the phone would crash to the palm logo and require a battery pull and wall charger to reboot. At one point I got scared as all my installed apps including homebrew were lost. After an additional reboot was able to get my apps back. Gonna go back to the 1GHz OC and wait for the next update to come out. Such is the life of an alpha tester.

EDIT: also while waiting for the next update to the SR71 to come out I get to spend time reorganizing my 150+ apps as they are now all on my first of 10 pages
If you install the save restore app and save your launcher it will put all apps to where they belong save restore is a major time saver.

Just voted after doctoring, so far its 2 to 1, I've got a feeling there's a lot more girly pre's out there then there are chucks. My girly pre is going back to warthog!

    Cheers,

No Chuck here. Have Govnah set at 500 to 1.0. Will continue testing. Too scared/lazy to power down phone as not sure how long it may take to get it back running. Will I need to plug in / or boot on TS / or both? Gonna try PDK so may find out soon enough.

If you're having trouble booting after installing this kernel, try simply removing and reseating the battery, then put the phone either on the touchstone or wall charger and turn the phone on. It should boot up properly after 3-6 minutes. Immediately go into Govnah and change your settings to 250-1005 MHz screenstate scaling. This should not only save you from doctoring, but give you a relatively reliable communication device.

I'm curious about the build dates on these cases with 'weak' devices that are having issues. I think this could be relevant information to include in the posts. For example, my 12-09 device has never had a single issue with under/over clocking. I've been able to run every kernel I can remember at any given frequency. Anyways with all that said, I've been running the SR71 for about 12 hours now and so far my device is running great. No temp issues at all, device is sitting at about 38 degrees right now. The only time my device will hit 45+ is on the touchstone and it will do that even when I'm running the stock kernel. I'm going to test out battery life some today and will be back with my opinions/results.
