What I'm wondering is, how have YOU set up Govnah to govern Uberkernel? What are you results so far?

Having just installed both Govnah and Uberkernel, I am curious as to other users real-world settings and results.

I am using the conservative governor.

    Min Freq: 250 MHz
    Max Freq: 720 MHz
    Sampling Rate: 1 second
    Sampling Down Factor: 1
    Up Threshold: 35%
    Down Threshold: 15%
    Ignore Nice Load: False
    Freq Step: 10%

My hope is a snappier device with longer battery life. While I can't vouch for battery life yet, it does feel much snappier (except upon waking up from idle of course).

    Anyone else care to share?

I started with the the "ondemand" but when playing music via bluetooth I was getting skips in the music, I reset the Govnah to "conservative" and everything is good now.

    Min Freq: 500 MHz
    Max Freq: 720 MHz
    Sampling Rate: 1 second
    Sampling Down Factor: 1
    Up Threshold: 80%
    Down Threshold: 20%
    Ignore Nice Load: False
    Freq Step: 5%

I did a short battery test (90 min) with my Pre at idle and was using .97 per hour. My Pre does seem faster.

I can't change mine everytime I try to change it my Pre freezes and I have to remove the battery. So I'm stuck in userstate.

Thanks! I have it set to userstate 500_800_800 now, and it appears to be running well.

I'm willing to log testing reports for uberkernel and Govnah app. I'm trying to create a comprehensive standardized list so we can track issues and see what needs fixing and what works well.

I can put them up in a spreadsheet on the webos-internals git server and aggregate to the wiki.

I'd appreciate any help with this I could get.

For the last couple of weeks I've been running benchmarks on the different speeds and governors and putting the results into git. (including temps)

What I'll need are the following bits of information:

Which kernel (including version) are you using? (uname -a)

Which version of Govnah are you using?

    Which Governor are you using?

What are all the settings for that Governor?

What results are you having with it? (I need more than IT SUCKS! or it ROXOR). results based on other kernel/governor apps are not helpful. Much more useful are comparisons to STOCK PRE kernels. Performance differences in Launcher, Apps, and general UI usage are most helpful.

Temperatures: Min-Max @ CPUFREQ are especially helpful.

Battery Performance with CPUFREQ and Governor Settings would be very nice.

    Thanks,

You probably installed something using Preware. Preware is know to kill (for some) the Phone app when it install stuff.

You need to restart Luna after installing stuff with Preware. This way, you'll never miss a call.
