I also know that the auto-save currently saves the files in Reverse alphabetical order, so saving the ZZZ... first wouldn't actually accomplish anything except to zip up the prior save's data...

all of that said, is "ZZZ..." excluded for a particular reason? No demands from me to make it work, just wondering what's next in the Auto-save roadmap... and if backing up the full S/R folder to a zip might become part of that? (Then I just need to get Dropboxify to enable a 'watch folder' automated backup to upload the backup to the cloud every few days after S/R runs!!)
I have been noticing the same thing...will reach out to the auto-save dev and see if he knows why its not happening!

I have been working on some scripts to make them work for 2.0. If anyone can help test these, I have updated 2 sets of files:

    1) Launcher and DeviceInfo scripts. DeviceInfo saves some system image files, your cookies/database/preferences db files, and your tokens. These scripts should work fine
    2) Autoreplace/Text Assist script. I have identified (well, arthurthornton identified) the files, but I can't get the script to actually work. Anyone on 2.0 care to try and see if they can get it?

Rod - is it possible to save and restore my Sprint Nav' "Recent Places"? I've got a ton, and use them all the time. If I can't figure out how to keep them, it's the one thing that will make me hesitate to upgrade my phone

acutally, it appears as if the recent locations are based on your phone number login, not anything located on your phone. so, you should be fine to get that data on your new phone, as long as you have the same phone number

I'm not so confident. sprint.com/navigation has just a few of my recent places. The website never really worked the way I hoped it would. Makes me doubt that they have my data anywhere that I could get it back.

hmm...here is the script that i wrote that you can try to run (i.e. delete ONE of the addresses, restore, reboot, check to see if its still there), but it didn't work for me. The website and my phone matched up 100%. let me know if you need help manually loading the script

Save/Restore 1.3.1 was just submitted to the testing feed. You should see this shortly in Preware

    Updates include:

    - Applications: Backup, Device Info (in /Contrib directory). These save various OS files and the webOS 1.x auto-correct dictionary. These were updated to be compatible for webOS 2.0. If you use these files, please re-copy them to your save/restore directory. For further details, see the readme.txt file in that directory for details) (all courtesy of Audemars02)
    - Applications: Launcher (updated for 2.0), Need for Speed (Spanish), Carbon, Foursquare (beta), Ace Casino, Definitive Saved by the Bell Quiz Full, freeTether (all courtesy of Audemars02)
    - Applications (new and updated): Baseball Live, Basketball Live, Women's College Basketball Live, Women's Basketball Live, US Soccer Live, UK Football Live, Sports Live, International Soccer Live, Hockey Live, Football Live, Euro Football Live, College Football Live, College Basketball Live (all courtesy of MoreSolutions)
    - Application: TapNote (courtesy of One Crayon)

This should account for ALL scripts currently posted in the thread. If I missed any, please let me know and I will add them in. Please let us know if you find any issues with any of the scripts.

NOTE 1: Anyone interested in getting access to the testing feed, follow the instructions here: Testing Feeds - WebOS Internals ... Please be sure to add the "-all" testing feed and the feed the relates to your device (pre/pixi/emulator)

NOTE 2: Don't see an app supported in Save/Restore? Request them here! Remember the bounty system that is referenced on the first post. For any paid applications, the "standard rate" is to offer 2x the value of the App.

For the Auto Save to function, does the Save/Restore program have to be open, or can I close the card?

    Thanks for this great app.

Check your account at Telenav.com. Sprint.com/navigation should also have the info, but I don't ever use that site, so I can't say for sure. I've been using the Telenav.com website for many years though, and all my info has always been there (and survives transfers from phone to phone as indicated by Audemars02).

Telenav shows me the same thing Sprint does. It synchronized one day back in June of '10 and that was it. Nothing new since then

Are you syncing the info from your phone to Telenav? Perhaps you're not remembering to sync or didn't realize you have to? My last phone automatically synced to Telenav's services each time the app was launched, but the app doesn't work that way on WebOS. You need to click the Drive To link on the "front page" of the app, then select My Favorites, then press the "half circle" arrow in the lower, right corner of the screen. This will force a sync with Telenav's servers. I wished it synced automatically, however, this is (so far as I know) the only way to activate the sync. I regularly have to do it because my office staff routinely adds addressed for me directly on the Telenav website, but you may not remember/know to do it if you never enter addresses from Telenav's or Sprint.com/navigation websites.

    Hello,

i just created a script for ColorHarmony.
It will save the settings and the stored favorites.

Would be nice if you can add it to the tree. Thanks!

I keep getting a "file not found" for com.palm.app.launcher when trying to restore my launcher pages/icons . Every other app restored correctly from save restore ...from Preware to Angry birds.

The last save date was yesterday on all my saved data including the launcher.

I looked at the launcher zip file and it appears that the files are there. Is there a save/restore bug regarding this. I have restored launcher about 3 months ago and all worked flawlessly.

The files that exist is a dock file and what appears to be an sql database with all the launcher items.

Is there a way to make this work?
I do have and have had ASLC installed if that make a difference.

Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    navinag

Thank you for your post! And sorry my problem has slightly derailed this thread. The process for me looks like this: Syncing with Website - loading... I am on Wifi right now and it still just hangs. I always just swipe it away.

Interesting is the part "expr: non-numeric argument<br>".

    Any suggestions?
