How do I install this? There's no install instructions on the Wiki page for it.

I couldn't test that because I had already removed it. I did attempt to reinstall it and now it does, indeed, work perfectly. Cheers!

Gets thru some initalizations, hits:

I_Init: Setting up machine state.
Error:Could not initialize SDL: Unable to open /dev/fb1
That's the error I'm getting as well.

so one thing I didn't realize after reading the article on the front page is that one must download the doom application. I sort of thought it was just built into webos and one could access it with the terminal. I'm kind of silly like that.

I get through the 4 commands, but the 4th command says
-sh: ./: Permission denied

Any thoughts as to the reason?

Thanks

This is fast! Thanks!

Just wondering why there isn't a launcher?

I am also getting the third command line error. I checked "ls" and I do seem to have all the directories necessary. It goes through the two directories changes, but then will not download from the server.

I tried rebooting. No success. Too many people downloading?

::::::::EDIT:::

Nevermind. Im stupid. I added line 3 and 4 together. Very dumb mistake. doom loaded right up.
Very cool

running now. didn't do anything different as far as i know.

game runs well. controls need tweaking. user defined controls would be great. think i would make aiming/turning via the touchscreen so that it duplicates the mouse/analog.

Because they were too busy making it work first. As the program says, that is in the works.

Rounded corners are not there in full screen. I could not take a screenshot when it was full screen either.

Same issue here. That's not a DirectFB thing is it? I thought that was no longer required.

I type in "cd /media/cryptofs/apps" and I get "-sh: d: not found"

However, if I do a "cd/"...and then work my way through the directory tree from that point...I got it to work.

EDIT: Got it...first line should be ""cd /media/cryptofs/apps/" <--note the last "/"

As for the controls...

Holding the phone in Landscape...

"Y" - Turn Left
"H" - Walk forward
"G" - Run forward
"B" - Turn Right
Screen Tap shoots ("Sym" key does too)

Haven't figured out how to back up yet.
you're right about this one... there 4 commands u have to run, just do exactly as it is printed or shown on the preware instructions.

1. cd /media/cryptofs/apps/ then enter
2. cd usr/palm/applications then enter
3. cd org.webosinternals.sdldoom then enter
4. ./doom & then enter

that worked for me and i was in...
