This app lets you send keystrokes to any Windows application via a bluetooth connection. For some keys, like page-down and page-up, there are on-screen buttons.
I was a loyal user of "PCPilot" for the Treo and did not find something similar for my Veer. It's my first app, but it works OK for me. I tested on a Veer / webOS 2.1 and Windows 7. I hope it is available via Preware soon (cannot post links or screenshot without having done at least 5 posts here ...) - Ralf Last edited by henschkowski; 08/31/2011 at 05:59 AM. Reason: typo |

I was not able to post the developer homepage link when submitting the app (have to make a least 5 posts here). The developer homepage is at "code.google.com p webos-bluetooth-remote-presenter" (replace the space with slashes ....)

I know that by booting the WebOS device it most of the times goes away. Or better boot both (webOS and Windows) and start with fresh bluetooth stacks, no paired devices etc. It would be great to find a always-working procedure for that bluetooth setup... |

Just uploaded a new release (1.0.1):
- (more) stable connection handling when switching between scenes. - use volume rocker switch as page-up and page-down keys - option to inhibit that the device goes asleep (powersaving) while the app is running |

Great! .. would you mind posting your server OS version / BT driver .. some others seem to have problem getting this set up so it might help them. I can do only limited testing.

Please make sure that you use the Microsoft (standard) BT driver. The Widcomm driver should work also, according to the PyBluez (pybluez - PyBluez is an effort to create python wrappers around system Bluetooth resources to allow Python developers to easily and quickly create Bluetooth applications. - Google Project Hosting) page (the server software uses this driver). I'm not sure this works with Win XP, I can only test with Windows 7 . Maybe the "complete" installation procedure ("DIY install" section on webos-bluetooth-remote-presenter - Use a WebOS device to remote-control presentations on a Windows PCs - Google Project Hosting) helps. |
