l just got my TP & installed the Touchplayer. But it would not lunch or remove from my TP. When I tap on remove, the. "Remove" icon spins endlessly for over 30 minutes. Yet, it still would not remove. Is there another way of removing this app., so I can reinstall it? Please help!

I'm having that exact same issue. You can remove it via the old fashioned way. Just touch it and press x.

Touchplayer did not install its icon under the "Launcher/Downloads". I can only access it via "Preware/Installed Packages/Application, which responds with either "launch and remove" options. The installed version is v1.0.2.

    Touchplayer v1.0.4 just got out.

It is now using mplayer (!) and so got subtitles support and also the missing pause ability.

I've just tested and it works perfectly.

Many thanks to the author !

Unable to update to v1.0.4 via Preware. Install step just sits and spins.

Yeah I'm doing a first time install and it downloads the full file but then just spins, never finishes the install.

If I try to install via WOSQI I get an invalid or corrupt package error.

I'm not here to criticize the Touchpad but to learn how to make it better.

I installed v1.04 using the feed from the author's website, and it runs perfectly! The video quality is so much better than the previous version, and also includes the play back controls as well as sub title. Really needs to say thank you to the author for such a great improvement!

    That's heaps better! Thank you!

    V.1.0.4 here: http://www.precentral.net/touchplayer

I did: Install 'Internals'>Log in @ above>download>install via WOSQI interface.

Looks like Precentral version is currently broken - got same error messages as mentioned above. Then tried to use feed from the author's website and installation went fine.

Did you install Internalz Pro from Preware first, as the needed 'File Manager' for Touchplayer?

I did, but its my first time using it. I tried the precentral download link, but not the author's site yet.

edit: looked at his site and its awfully confusing. I've no idea what to do there, so I'll just wait for it to be fixed from preware download

I cannot send links yet, what a shame.
It's clearly written on the author homepage what to do (add a feed...) because Precentral feed is broken.

If you are impatient, you can directly download the package and install manually.
    It's located here:
    http://mobilecoder.touchpadhp.info/t..._1.0.4_all.ipk

Small tips given by the author: you can configure mplayer with a config file.
    You just have to create:
    /usr/local/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf

    I personnaly put:
    vf=expand=:-60::2

In order to display the subtitles in the lower black bar (and it works !)

When adding the devs feed I still don't see touchplayer popping up?

I had a previous version installed. Didn't update and then I removed it. But now I don't see it in either Precentral & mobilecoder feed

As I explained, you can try to install it manually.
I gave the link to the file...
