New App: Offline Browser

As some of you might already read on Twitter, I wrote little Offline Browser app which tries to fix some annoyance with the original browser and the whole workflow during reading Twitter, Email or RSS feeds:

new browser card pops up in the foreground
sometimes you get a gray browser card with blinking icon
sometimes you get an orphaned browser window which doesn't go fullscreen anymore
sometimes the browser forgets what he has and you have to reload
some pages are very slow thanks to css/js/files which the browser needs to load before displaying

Offline Browser will try to help you to avoid these annoying things. By catching URLs, storing them in a database, downloading the html in the background and storing it in the database too, showing a preview without CSS and JS, but mostly working links. It will be released for free as Homebrew.

At the moment it is Mojo but I'm on my way to create a combined Mojo/Enyo package.

Yes, it works fine here on my Pre2 and was tested today on a 1.4.5 Pre(-)
I submitted it to the Homebrew-section today.

Interesting, this was new to me. I guess it will not catch urls on the device and probably doesn't cure the browser card appears in front, which is also quite annoying

Yes seems to be completely different. I just mentioned it because of the similarity of the name.
We talked about offline browsing yesterday. I didn't know that app at that time.

I have been eagerly searching for this in Preware for 3-4 days now but I can't find this in Preware. I search for offline browser and this app does not show up.

Should I add some specific feed for this ? I have a Palm Pre Plus running 1.4.5.

Working now 8/2/11. Was hanging (just flash) before 7/30/11.

Not sure I understand it. I can manually save the pages to it, but the help implies some sort of automatic use.

Maybe a device restart will help.

To have it capture all web links you need to go to Device Info app > Prefs > Default Apps and set it as default for Web. That should set Offline Browser as your default handler for web links.

Edit: No need to restart after setting the default.
