I just looked it up in the app catalog with no problem. Main page of app catalog, simply typed SPB and hit the enter button... came up right away.

I left a very positive review for the app and developer!

I can't remember if I had asked this before, but is there any plans on adding the major broadcast networks to this TV app? I know there is news on the networks, but I mean the full network channels.I don't care what part of the US it is from; as long as it's ABC, Fox, NBC, My Network TV,the CW, ect. Because SprintTV does have some good channels, but they don't have all of the shows, like the Simpsons and Family Guy. PBS would also be nice.

Yes, you asked this and it was already answered. Just go back ONE page to post #198. Network programs cannot be added to a free program because of licensing fees.

Will try to answer to everybody

    @ mamouton

It's able! Just go to the menu("SPB TV"->Preferences) and select what you want! To re-order - just drug and drop channel in list

Well.. I haven't got clear answer, in fact. Channel gives us stream - so we transmit it.

Btw, we've got some problems with h264 - so some channels in this version can look badly(many small squares instead of "normal" video). In new version it would be ok..

    @ sracercelica

If I understood you correctly - unfortunately my english far from ideal - Yes!
How do you select the chanells? I love the app but would adore it if it had my local Fox 45 Baltimore as a channel- orany local chanels.

We at SPB Software are glad to show you our latest achievement - the beta version of our very first app for webOS, SPB TV. Mind that "our first app" is not equal to "our only app" SPB TV for webOS is in the final stage of development so we kindly ask dear PreCentral.net community members to download, install and evaluate the prog, giving their feedback afterwards.

SPB TV is an application that allows you watch over 120 channels in more than 20 different languages on your mobile companion. We neither charge anything for the software itself, nor plan to do so when it goes final. Besides, there is no monthly fee, however, there're 12-second long still ads every time you change the channel. As for the beta version, look for it in the gallery of PreCentral.net when it gets approved.

*** See the screenshots attached ***

SPB TV for webOS main features:

    - Video-on-demand
    - Quick channel preview (picture-in-picture)
    - Integrated TV guide
    - Support for hardware buttons
    - Video codec support: MPEG4, H.264
    - Audio codec support: AAC+

System requirements: a webOS-based device with OS version 1.3.5 and above. Pre, Pre+, Pixi and Pixi+ should work just fine. Above all you need a fast WiFi or data connection as the typical bandwith consumption of the stream may vary from 200 to 500 kbps. The codec used to compress the video is normally h.264. However, if h.264 stream is not available the video is delivered encoded with MPEG4.

    Known issues:

    - If a stream wouldn't start after the ad was shown that means the channel wasn't buffered properly. Please, wait or try reloading it.
    - The channel list in "Preferences" is shown incorrectly in 400 by 320 mode.

Attention: This application is available for free, but cannot be redistributed, and the source code is not open source.

Thank you for your attention and we hope you enjoy SPB TV for webOS (helping us tackle a couple of bugs on the way).

    New version available!
    Changes in 0.8.2:
    - cosmetic changes in Preferences
    - re-designed About
    - Fixed some bugs and added new ones.

Yes, it's planned to be fixed - but unfortunately I can't give you any even approximate dates of update(we're planning to release new appl, so update would be only after that )

    @derric1969
Hi! Sorry, I don't understand your question - could you re-write with more details? Thanks!

    Hi Janke,
This thread is as close as you will get. Please see Post #198 for the answer to viewing broadcast tv.

At some point, both AT&T Universe and DirecTV will offer apps for webOS... but that is still a wait away.

I love the new update, since it has some Dutch channels added!!!

Weird thing still is, it doesn't work on all the wifi networks I connect to, only some. Does it require a specific type of wifi / security protocol? Or do have to I open up a port, or is NAT causing the problems?

The developers can only post content that doesn't go against any Copy Right laws. So more USA channels isn't very likely. I had asked the same question and that is what I was told.
