lostFM - music is for everywhere

Description

lostFM is a tiny little - yet powerful - Last.FM client for webOS. The main features are:

• Complete support of Last.FM's streaming radio service, including your neighbours, your library and recommendations.
• Scrobbling of tracks played with lostFM.
• Add track to playlists directly from your Pre or Pixi.
• Statistics: Your most-played tracks, albums and artists.
• Browse artists information and galleries, album tracklistings and your playlists. It's Last.FM for your pocket!

More features to come:

• Event Support: find events by artist or venue, attend events via lostFM and mark your event dates in the calendar app.
• Autoplay feature to make lostFM useabe by other apps.

Be careful (just in case)

This App is still pre-beta and not even finished. I just want to keep everyone updated and entertained. Moreover, I don't think you can break anything using this app - but you know what you're doing, right?

I've been using your previous releases and it's great!

I'm checking out your newest update right now, I like the icons and stuff you've changed. Looks nice.

Will it be possible to have the ability to "love" tracks?

Why not in preware? Don't use my USB often. Do you know the command line for installing it in sh on the pre? ipkg -add or smth?

I can't help you there, with the command line stuff.
You probably already know, but you can just use WebOS Quick Install.

Perhaps he doesn't want to submit it anywhere yet because it's still in pre-beta.

If you're using putty or whatever to ssh in you could:

mount -o remount,rw /
ipkg install url_to_ipk_file
mount -o remount,ro /

I can't post URLs being a noob so you need to change url_to_ipk_file to the full URL of the ipk file above. Be warned though as I did this for 0.1 and 0.2 and I now have both versions installed. IIRC you'll also have to rescan (using Luna Manager if you have it) or restart your Pre for the icon to show up. so yeah, best to use WebOS Quick Install really ;-)

I think it should be:
ipkg -o /media/cryptofs/apps/ install <filename>
but chicken-hearted as I'm I installed it with QuickInstall ;-)

btw: I found a lot of this errors in the log:

would it be possible to add 'friends' and 'users' to list of Radio Tags. Not all my friends are in the automatically created Neighbors list.

is anyone else getting pretty bad battery life when running this app? When in EVDO coverage my battery goes from 100% to 0 in 2 hours. Or is this normal?

I had the previous version of PalmFM on my Pre and loved it. I deleted in in antiicipation of installing the new version Lost FM. I downloaded the ipk file to my laptop, then launched WebOS QI - I hit the + and added the ipk file. But when I click on install nothing happens!

What am I doing wrong? I have indtalled many files using WebOS QI nd never had this problem. Can anyone help?

Update to Version 0.2.1 is out. Moreover I decided to keep this app free (at least for now), since I don't think I could get along that well with Last.FM and its licensing restrictions. So, it probably should hit Preware by the end of the week. (Hm, are there any detailed instructions how to do that?)

Oh, and if any of you have some cool 32x32 icons for "love" and "ban" lying around somewhere, I don't have an idea myself (esp for ban), so that'd be really helpful.

So, scrobbling should work? It doesn't appear to scrobble anything for me. Also, does it now or will it at some point support running in the background (to scrobble 24/7)?

I assume you mean scrobbling for other music apps? Considering each app is confined to it's own space I don't think it is possible now, with out hacking of course. Maybe after the pdk comes out.

Everything you listen to using the internal player will be scrobbled. Sure, scrobbling tracks from other apps would be great but - like fain mentioned - this is not possible yet.

can you add a remember me feature so i dont have to sign in every time. Also would it be possible to swipe away the app card and still have the app running at the bottom of the screen. or atleast have an option for this sort of background running?

oh and some general tweaking so it doesnt use as much battry? at the moment its using 30%/hour drain.
