How do I turn of the "blobs & text" (when I click on them a picture occasionally appears) that appear all over the map, obscuring the actual map underneath? I've tried all of the options, even paid for the pro version, in the hope I can turn them off, but no avail. Without being able to turn them off the app is next to useless, as you can't see anything but this junk littering the screen.

You go to settings: Photos and set it to None. Then you would need to exit the app and come back. That's a flaw which I will fix in the next update. Thank you anyway for buying the pro I hope there will be a time when you think the Photos layer on the map is cool and useful

    Excellent. Thanks.

Any chance for the "hide all buttons & text" feature?

Unfortunately I've tried that & it doesn't work. I get no photos, but I still get the blobs & textual descriptions, despite restarting. I have a Pre 2 with webOS v2.0.1.

This sounds not as if you select none or if you doesn't relaunched the app.

If a zip file isn't possible to store the offline map files
could it be possible to develop maptool that it can store the
offline map files in a Sqlite database to save memory space
    like Rmaps for android?
Or just copy all offline map files to one file with a control file?

I see the 2.2 version is out. Any chance of a changelog? I'd love to know what changed and how to use it.

    Thanks.

    Hi MetaView,

i saw that HP have an interesenting sample & docs zip for webos 2.1 devs.
(Couldn't post the direct link to the package because i have not postet 5 topics or greater ...)

In this package i also found a "BluetoothSPPGPS" sample code. Is it possible to implement an external gps receiver in Maptool (Pro) with this Code fragment? Do you developing this software with the PDK or SDK Kit?

support for external BT GPS receivers in 2.x is one feature for the next update. I'm also not very lucky with the build-in GPS device of my Pre.

Why is it in the App Catalog now?

I have no app catalog and it makes no sense to me how the homebrew apps go to Palm and they stop being homebrew (they take them out of Preware) >:-/

    Hello Metaview,

Is there some alternative way to buy your maptool pro?
I am in Slovakia and there is no way I can buy it via App Catalog.

+1 (hopefully waiting forward to use my Wintec WBT-201 again)

+1 for me too, if external GPS support via BT SPP comes out MappingTool I'll reconsider my decision to get an EVO 3D later this month.

@soltrance: the free version is still in preware
    @titanman1: send me an email

external GPS: this will need 2.x to work

Yeah, I've noticed since I got my Pre2 that the GPS doesn't stay alive as well in my pocket so the tracking function hasn't worked. For some reason it worked pretty well on my Pre-.
