    ah, ok, yes, it can create them, but only on download. Not the app creates the dir, the app orders the download manager to download files and the download manager will then create necessary folders.

    So it would be possible to create the separate renderer folders on download and also use user created offline folders if the folders already existed:

    \.MapTool\Mapnik\15\9775\17589.png (smart cache folder for MapNik)
    \.MapTool\CycleMap\15\9775\17589.png (smart cache folder for CycleMap)
    \.MapTool\MapLint\15\9775\17589.png (smart cache folder for MapLint)
    \.MapTool\VailPass\15\9775\17589.png (user created offline folder)
    \.MapTool\BerthoudPass\15\9775\17589.png (user created offline folder)

    Then in offline mode, order the priority of cache folders:

    \.MapTool\BerthoudPass
    \.MapTool\VailPass
    \.MapTool\CycleMap
    \.MapTool\Mapnik

    Would that work?

    I've loaded all my off line maps for my upcoming trip to South America. Mapping Tool PRO is working great. One awesome feature would be to import targets from my.telenav.com. That way as I'm browsing the web for things to do, I could just highlight the address, use my browser plugin to post to my.telenav.com, then import selected saved places from my.telenav.com that I want to visit on my trip.

    just downloaded this app and so far so good. This is a fantasic app. Question: when I change preferences - like turn off grid - the settings are never saved. Is there a trick to saving preferences?
  7.    #427
    Thx, no trick, prefs are saved on closing the prefs form.

    Do you use homebrew? Mind to run Lumberjack to see if you can catch any loggong from MapTool?

    These are the steps I took to generate this log:
    1) open Mapping Tool
    2) goto Preferences, uncheck "Draw grid" and check "hide greeting"
    3) swipe back to map
    4) goto prefences again - they are saved.
    5) Exit app
    6) relaunch
    7) check preferences and my selections from before are back to default ("grid" is checked and "hide" is unchecked).

    Thanks,
    Jim

    * Install Internalz
    * Open Internalz and ensure you are in hte USB partition, path should be displayed as /media/internal
    * create a new directory and call it .MapTool (the dot in the beginning is important)
    * connect your device to your desktop, open the USB partition of the device
    * open the directory .MapTool
    * copy the directory structure which jTileDownloader created into the directory .MapTool on your USB partition
    * at the end it should look like: .MapTool/13/2345/6789.png

    When I click on the map, UTM coordinates can be shown but not complete, such as:

    UTM 50 214, 203 2, 484, 1...

    Oh, missed the last 2 digits! Bugs? Or any further setting I needed?

    And may I request to select the Coordinates shown on top as UTM in Preference?

    Thanks!!!
