    Hi all!

I think it is time to tell you something about the current status of BibleZ /BibleZ Pro and the future of this app.

Since February I started a new fulltime job so that there is very little time left for all of my webOS projects. That's one of the reasons why there aren't many updates for BibleZ (Pro). I hope to have more time for this app this summer.

I've started to port BibleZ to the new webOS framework called enyo. My plans are to make a "2.0" version for the new webOS devices (Pre3, TouchPad, ...) with many nice features. Stay tuned! BibleZ Pro "2.0" will be hybrid app with support for all the sword modules (bibles, commentaries and maybe more).

So thank you for all your patience. Follow me on twitter (@zefanjas) to get more updates.

Thanks for the reply. I have realized that a lot of the performance issues are due to bad webOS memory management in 1.x.x. I hope they fixed it in 2.x (I never upgraded).

Thanks for the status update, BTW. I'll play with some twitter things on my phone and see if I find one I like (I usually avoid social networking, other than YouTube).

FYI: I noticed a few issues with the latest version on the app catalog (webOS version 1.4.5), however I can only remember two of them right now.
    1. When you have more than 50 search results, and you click the button to see more, it refreshes and only shows you the same 50 search results that it displayed previously, and not the new ones.
    2. Each time I search, it does the search in ASV (which is what I am usually reading in), but if I click on a result to open it in a new page it displays in a seemingly random translation. This behavior has changed since whatever version I updated from, which would always search in ACV, even if I was reading in ASV when I launched BibleZ and started a search, and I would believe it always showed the new page in whatever translation I was reading in before I started the search instead of showing it in ACV. Since there is no setting for this, I always assumed it was supposed to remain in the same translation at all times (including while searching), unless the user sets BibleZ to a different translation.

    Hi,

the first Beta of BibleZ HD is now available!

    http://developer.palm.com/appredirec...as.biblez.enyo

The features are currently very basic, but I hope to add more soon. BibleZ HD is now based on the SWORD engine (The CrossWire Bible Society - Free Bible Software - Bringing the Gospel to a new generation).

    Best Regards,
    Stephan

Hmm. This does not show up on my TP. I tried all kind of searches but all I get are the Pre versions.

Yes, because it is in the Beta Feed. You need to open this URL on your TP (be sure to use http:// and not https://):

    http://developer.palm.com/appredirec...as.biblez.enyo

I have tried repeaated to use the http:// instead of https:// to access this program. I see the download page, but it only works for phones. It says to access the app on wifi devices through the App Catalog, which doesn't have the app. What am I missing here?

You need to open the url on your TouchPad! The App is currently in the Beta Feed, so you can't find it in the app catalog search.

Stephan-Sorry, I should have specified that I am using the TouchPad. :-) Actually, I've done it both desktop and on the TP, in the Web Browser and via the market. No success. I'm sure i'm missing something simple here....

Hmm...I've just tried it on my TP and could open the App in the AppCatalog using this link:

When I use that link, I see the app in the developer.palm web page, but it only allows downloading via SMS. I do not see anywhere to download via Wifi. When I search the AppCatalog, I only find the phone versions (non-HD) versions, not the enyo version.

Ok, it seems that opening this link (without "https://") from the browser opens the browser. Try this: Copy the link to the clipboard and paste it in a new Memo (or send yourself an email with this link). Than open the link from the memo or mail.

That worked! I had manually change the https to http in the memo, but that took me to the market. Thanks for the help.

For anyone else having trouble accessing this app:
    1. Type http:/ and the paste this complete link to a memo where the two / are side by side:
    /developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=de.zefanjas.biblez.enyo
(the above links are truncated, so they don't work for copying)
    2. Click on the link from the memo (should open to the market instead of in a browser window)

    Hope this helps someone else!

Will BibleZ HD work on other webOS versions/devices, or only on the tablet with webOS 3?

Currently it will only work on the TouchPad, but I plan to make a phone version, too, but it will be only available to devices with the enyo framwork (webOS 3.x and maybe webos 2.x).

No need to. It's in the TouchPad App Catalog.

I am really liking this app. Easy to read and easy to look things up.

    Two questions:
    1. How do you use the note feature? I can open the notes tab, but I can't enter anything. I also can't select text to add.
    2. The module manager doesn't show anything anymore. It appears to try to sync, but nothing comes up.

    Steve
