    Borked is not a "bad" message. It's just an application that has no name; popups and the dashboard seem to fit this right now. Double applications are also not bad, as there is usually a background application that spawns a window for you to interact with. Both are running, but you can only see one. The other one is always running to do notifications, updates, etc.

    There's a background version of most of the Palm apps like phone, email, calendar, contacts that is launched when the phone boots. When
    you launch any of those apps in the UI, you'll see a duplicate in JSTop. That
    is normal. What are you seeing duplicates of?

    What apps do you have running when you get Too Many Cards?

    Well, the phone app has a lot of cards open for a reason. There's the PIM manager that talks to contacts, the call log, the actual phone base app, etc.

    @azakus

    I'm curious about the need for the GC feature. Is there some evidence that webos is not GC'ing frequently enough?

    It's really much more of an issue on Sprint Pres or Pixis, but major GCs in webOS don't appear to happen all that often. Usually, manually executing a GC makes the "too many cards" problem disappear. Personally, I don't really use it too much, but the autoGC was a requested feature from more than one person, so I decided to include it.

    JSTop 0.2.2 released:
    - Filtering now occurs on application name, not url. The grouping of applications can now occur
    - JSTop's background stage closes if autoGC is disabled. No need for that to run if you're not using it.

    I think i found a small bug with JsTop...

    Whenever you launch the app, the new dropdown menu always shows options to "disable notifications" and "Disable Auto GC". However, if I were to select "Disable Notifications" (so it shows "Enable Notifications"), close the App and then relaunch, it reverts back to the option to Disable Notifications even though it appears that Notifications are already disabled. In fact, if I were to click "Disable Notifications" right after that re-launch, the dropdown will still show "Disable Notifications" until I click on it a 2nd time... does that make sense?

    So, just a minor bug, but I wanted to make sure to report it

    i've found myself in situations where I couldnt launch Jstop. I'm sure others have, what has worked for me, is to shut off the phone and data/wifi using the advanced phone patch, while its down I can Launch Jstop. Once its open I can clean stuff up and then toggle phone and data/wifi back on. Worked on two semi-critical occasions. Can anyone confirm it?

    Ok, thanks. I've used the auto-gc feature for a few weeks now and noticed no difference at all in behavior. (I still get the too many cards error, I can't run any more apps than I could before, etc)
    I find it hard to believe that Palm isn't making an explicit call to GC when launching an app....

    Not being critical here, I love jstop - I just wasn't sure if the GC feature was more of a novelty or if it actually made any difference. My hunch is it's a placebo effect happening.
