Thank you, I never realized that contacts would break the plugin.I found out a way to fix this, in case the other people who have had this problem are interested.

I failed to remove the msn account, it kept removing forever.
I doctored my phone and restored contact from gmail, not restore the palmdatabase.db3 like before, and msn problem finally solved, at least for now.

I've installed the ICQ plugin; howerver my buddy list is empty. Anyone else have this problem? I am using a german pre with 1.3.5.2.

sadly i have got the same problem as htpcMe. Also with a german pre with 1.3.5.2...

I've tried reinstalling but no use. I haven't logged into the terminal yet. I need to look into that more first. Just root into your Pre and copy and paste this code and it will install the MSN part. This has worked for everyone so far.

I installed it via the quick install. I have preware and have a handful of patches installed. For messaging I specifically have the following.
-landscape messaging
-sign in as invisible in IM
Also noticed the Add Account screen is missing the icons
I'm getting this phone replaced soon with a new one. So I want to get this down right before trying it on a fresh device.
Also if this is in Preware yet, what's it listed under?
I've skimmed through a good number of these pages and the first post isn't exactly full of the info I was looking for.

This gave me a conclusion that The sms tone per contact and messaging patch has a conflict. can someone tell me how to fix it so i could have both working?? Thanks a lot!!

I have install 2.0.4 on my 1.3.5.2 german pre that great version for me.
All contract copy on disable alias.
It can fullfill my need on mobile useing msn.
Although it cannot display alias. But I don't mind it is wonderful for me.

Nah, it's almost the same as the gtalk default app. Just keep your Pre with good signal. If you keep between 2G and 3G or losing your connection momentarily, it will try to connect again, consuming battery.I've installed it on my 1.3.5.2 German pre as well.

The trick is to keep a stable phone connection.

I only used FB chat. Only gripe is that the buddy lists arrange in alphabetical order and not in order I assign on FB. Is that a Palm limitation?
i guess one more, the header bar between groupings, some extend across the phone and some don't. but thats a minor issue i guess.

I have LIVE installed. My friend is telling me that sometimes he is getting my messages coming in twice. So double messages of the same thing.
Has anyone encountered 'double' messages or better yet, duplicate messages being sent out?
I'm not sure how I can test this on my own. I guess I can setup another account and see if it comes in that way.

where in preware can I find the plugin? What's it called?
The issue with the jabber client setup is that instead of the aliases(IE names) the plugin uses the UXXXXXXXX codes for the usernames so you just have a bunch of nonsense in your contact list (as well as your contacts!).
I manually linked them all to the right user... but that took hours... would be nice if the plugin just grabbed the full names and let the contact app's duplicate matching happen.
