It does support it, and seems to be set correctly for port 80.

For 8080, you would need to change the To: to 80 as well, so it directs traffic incoming on port 8080 to port 80 on your web server.

I still recommend using another secondary port instead of 8080. Try 9090 or something, and make sure that the "To:" port is set to 80.

And here's how i set up the forwarding on my router. Hopefully you can see the image a lil bit. Im not sure if my router support that.
    Try this:

9090 to 80 Check TCP Uncheck UDP 192.168.1.105 Check enabled

    New URL:
    http://(xxx).at.cx:9090/ampache-3.4.5

Unless you created a rule in your router to forward port 8080 to port 80 what you are doing will not work. Also some routers do not support routing one port to another, what router do you have?

What you need to do is enter a port forwarding rule like this.

    Possible Issue 1:

If your router support changing the destination port you need a rule like this:

    Code:
        Incoming Port: 8080
        Destination Port: 80
Destination IP: 192.162.x.x (This is whatever IP you use on WiFi)

    Possible Issue 2:

If it doesn't you need a rule like this:
    Code:
        Incoming Port: 8080
Destination IP: 192.162.x.x (This is whatever IP you use on WiFi)
Also you need to add a line to your httpd.conf (C:\xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf)

    Find the line:
    Code:
    Listen 80
    and add
    Code:
    Listen 8080
below it, save and restart apache.
I changed that now...i'll try again

You shouldn't have to modify your httpd.conf since your router supports internal port routing. The rule I posted should work.

9090 to 80 Check TCP Uncheck UDP 192.168.1.105 Check enabled

I'd delete all the other rules you made as well unless you need them.

    Thanks Bjgeiser! Thanks Tobias Funke!

    It works now!
Actually, not only did you both just help me with setting up Ampache, you always helped me figure out this ip forwarding/static ip thing atlast.

    Thank you!

And i deleted the other ones!

Did you end up adding the Listen to httpd.conf. Looking at your router a bit more i think my rule is wrong, I hate Linksys!

yeah, i just deleted the rules i added to httpd.conf.

Im currently connected and its buffering. It works! I deleted all those rules. I didnt know Ampache used 80 as default. I thought you have to create a port for it and have it use that port.

It's Apache (the web server) that uses 80 as its default. Pretty much every server in existence has to listen on a specific port(s) for incoming connections.

    Thanks...I just realize that!
I appreciate this though. You didnt just only teach me how to make Ampache work, you thought me how to resolve port conflicts with my xbox and the router.

I used to have 0.7.0 installed and now that I've installed 0.9.5 using the webOS App Distributor, I'd like to uninstall 0.7.0. I ran ipkg-opt remove on the 0.7.0 version before installing the latest one and it told that everything has been successfully removed, yet the old icon still shows up and the app runs when I press on it. What am I doing wrong here?

It does bring up the prompt that you could otherwise get through Device Info app, but it only shows the version with an OK button, no Delete button is shown.

Hmmm... I've never heard of that happening. You could manually delete the app using Internalz or novacom

Have you tried a device reset?

I removed 0.7.0 using "ipkg-opt remove" while being connected via a ssh. As for reset, yes - tried it twice.

Can you reinstall it and then try the standard app removal method I described above.

You have download any version here...

What's the appropriate way of installing it then? Maybe I installed it the wrong way last time even though I don't remember what steps I took exactly.
