If that does not work, we'll be releasing a newer version soon that may work, but I couldn't say for sure. I always just delete apps using Palm's method and I can reinstall fine.




Mandy, we designed preload to tell you when there is an update and to update itself automatically. This is something new, so it had a couple bugs that we believe we have worked out, and the next release should update OTA by itself when it needs it.
It's not on filecoaster because I haven't had time to submit it to the Pre Central V2 gallery. Use the link above to install it the same way you did filecoaster.

i just hit the orange button and the preload app to delete and that worked fine
the update8 installed fine,and now it allows me to update again to the latest (1.85)

Awesome - that's what's been working for me too.

BTW everyone - we're up to 1894 wallpapers, since we just had a TON submitted by kingjain!

Again - just a reminder - you must be the app developer to submit the app through the upload page.

We're not even halfway through August and we've had to up our bandwidth! You guys have blown through 60 GIG of bandwidth!

According to our tracking, you're using it ALOT!

We should have a new update coming out later this week or this weekend!

The new update will be out tomorrow, and it includes ratings, comments, adding repositories with a standard feed, back gesture fixes, a new app that tells you when any app in PreLoad needs updating, ordering the lists by any means you want (alphabetical in both directions, newest, ratings, downloads).

BTW developers, that's something new. We will be allowing users to sort by top downloads, which we're tracking on our site for those that upload to us. You can track your downloads, view your rating, read your comments....

We are also releasing a new app that will notify users that there is a new version of your app, as long as it has been uploaded with PreLoad. They open PreUpdate and it tells them if they need to update, they download and install - done. No checking posts, forums or websites for the latest versions themselves.

We're working on an enhanced admin panel for you so you can view all of this information in a neat format. Downloads by day, number of users who upgrade, etc..

The repository adding is exciting! If you subscribe to the idea of a standard feed, so everyone can access apps, we have allowed people to add any repository they would like. Punch in the URL into the repository area and you have access to any app available on that feed.

Congratulations on the update. This now shows that an installer application that subscribes to the idea of an open feed can give the user the ability to install any app from any repository.

Let's hope that the other on-device installers also subscribe to this idea so that then the users can use any installer to install any app from any repository, and the developers only have to submit their app to a single repository to have it available for all installers to display to the users.

http://ipkg.preware.org/feeds/ is the place to find all the feeds available for Pre homebrew apps. It has the approval of all the originating site owners, and is automatically updated at 4am PST daily (I might change this to every 15 minutes if the originating site owners agree).

Just downloaded this app to my pre....it installed fine, downloaded the 1.6.4 version but it says v1.3 on the app. Also when i search or even click on a button within the app...it give me nothing for my search. I tried searching in wallpapers for "Flower" and nothing....DID I MISS SOMETHING!


NM...guess it needed a few minutes after installed to reboot itself and update.

Uhh, I'm having a problem updating pre load. It prompts me for a new update but it won't instsll or anything it just restarts and stays at version 1.55

Sorry, if this has been asked before. But I need some help here

Wow, old version.

Ignore the app update and go into the applications section Download PreUpdater and use it to update PreLoad. You'll end up on the latest version.

Thanks, I finally got it working. I downloaded pre update and it still wouldn't let me update to the latest version. It's probably a bug in that old version.

But I actually had to uninstall pre load, then I downloaded version 1.6 from the op. It worked. Then I was able to update it to the latest version.

It's a great app, thanks again for your help though

Glad it worked!

PreUpdater will also now allow show you when ANY homebrew app on our feed or one of the default feeds needs updated. That covers almost all of the homebrew apps.

I've been using preload for a bit but the preupdater app I just found today... ITS AMAZING.

I don't have to go to the homebrew app gallery and compare dates anymore because it updated all my apps...

Only thing is, once someone installs an update and they go back, please have it refresh that page so it doesn't still say they need an update..

Thank you! PreUpdate seems to be a hit! Downloaded over 1800 times in 24 hours.

We tried refreshing the list, but we're dealing with the Pre's cache. We'll get that fixed and we're thinking of adding an Update All button too.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you guys save your sounds to the Ringtones folder they will show up in myNotification in the list.
