Presenting: Lights Out!
A Lights Out/Fiver clone It's back!! The ipk may now be found in the App Gallery! http://www.precentral.net/homebrew-apps/lights-out Please continue to post issues/suggestions in this thread. Thanks for all the support! Lights Out v0.2.0 (8/1)
Lights Out v0.4.0 (8/10)
This is my first webOS application. I initially started working on it as a learning experience, but once I got the JavaScript port working, I couldn't stop! I feel as though the game has reached a point where I can release it (it's playable, and is sort-of webOS-ified). How to play Pressing one of the lights will toggle it and the four lights adjacent to it on and off. (Diagonal neighbors are not affected.) The game provides a puzzle: to switch all the lights off, preferably in as few button presses as possible. Known Issues To Do

Awesome! I've always had a special place in my heart for this game, and from what I've played so far, works perfectly! Thank you so much!
Suggestions/Requests: -Either make the difficulty option a button next to the reset button, or put it in the dropdown menu. Seems kind of confusing with just the word there. -A timer and a high score leaderboard would be great. -An undo button/option would be fantastic. BUG: When I select the Easiest difficulty, it changes the board to only 3 lights on. But when I want to restart the puzzle and press "Reset", it turns on all the lights. It should go back to the starting default configuration (in this case, only 3 lights turned on). Or was that done on purpose? If so, may I suggest a restart button?

Yeah, I think difficulty and reset should go in the App Menu (the top left corner) and then you have room in case a notification comes in too, and then you don't have to worry about the scene scrolling.
But still, this is fun (and difficult). |

Thanks a bunch for the game, it works wonderful. Definitely brings me back to my childhood when I had the game.
Just a heads up, when you updated to 0.3 the "about" page still shows 0.2. One idea you may want to do (and I think this may be how the game was when I had it as a kid, but it's been so long I forget) is have a simple "random" thing to turn lights on instead of the preprogrammed levels you currently have. So, basically the random function can randomize the number of lights on as well as their locations, if a person doesn't like the one generated they hit generate again and again until they get one they like. That way it's a never ending game people can play. Keep up the great work, it looks wonderful and functions amazingly. |
