Unofficial Google Voice client for the Palm Pre. dkGoogleVoice allows you to integrate the contacts on your phone with the Google Voice service. You can place a call or send a text message by dialing a number on the dialpad or keypad, clicking on a history list item, or choosing a contact stored on your phone. This application also allows you to read a recent list of your missed, incoming, and placed calls to your Google Voice number as well as text messages sent to that number. If you missed a call to your Google Voice number, you can read the voicemail transcript that Google Voice provides by selecting the desired voicemail item. See the screen shots and my blog (in signature) for more information.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS (thanks johnsongrantr):
First and foremost, make sure you actually have a google voice account and have set it up via google voice website's tutorial where you register your mobile phone for first time

next basic settings to check within dkGV
-make sure you enter your GV account correctly, name@gmail.com
-make sure you enter your GV password correctly
-make sure you enter your GV number correct and complete exp 2225551234 no dashs
-make sure your mobile number is correct in dkGV 2225551234 no dashes
-make sure your mobile phone is registered with google voice
-make sure calls are forwarded to your mobile phone
-turn off "do not disturb" on GV website under settings
-make sure you have a decent data connection, if all else fails use wifi for testing
-after you hit dial, dkGV does not give a confirmation of call being sent yet, wait for the phone call from your google voice number before doing anything else, could take up to 1 min but average is 5-10 sec

use these advanced trouble shooting steps if all settings are correct (actually verify these, don't just assume they are ok)

-make a test call via www.google.com/voice/m as this is the same website both applications talk through, if your phone rings it's in the mobile app not with your settings

-reinstall the applications, manually delete them in software menu on pre, then use installer such as "WebOSQuickInstall" to reinstall.

-use webdoctor to completely wipe your pre and start from scratch *make sure you back up your phone numbers and private information before doing this*

Why not have Precentral host your .ipk files so we can download them now instead of later to help you test and debug them for prime time when the app catalog is available?

Interesting. I'll download when I'm home. I'm in the GV beta. Does it only work with contacts?

it works with contacts and it also has a dial pad in case you need to dial a number not stored as a contact

Can't wait for the IPK - not being able to SMS via my Google Voice number directly from my phone (except thru the mobile interface) is bugging me.

Your efforts are appreciated, but Homebrew threads require that you offer an IPK file, not just a preview, however near completion.

I agree! This is a much needed app and I would love an ipk to help test this for you. I've been a Google Voice (and GrandCentral) user for years but never really used it a whole lot since it wasn't real user friendly with my old phone. Now with a Google Voice app for my Pre I think this would be a great opportunity to start using it more!

Can't wait for its beta release!

Looks cool. Please allow us to test it for you.

I have had a GV act way before when it was still Grand Central and have my GV all tricked out. ii

Does this use the same basic method as gdial (already released), i.e. dials your voicemail and automatically enters the prompts to dial out through vm?

Just curious.
