When I am running terminal and type in palm-install filename I keep getting connection refused. Tried to follow instructions regarding novacomd but keep getting asked for a password. Very frustrating. I have installed the SDK on my mac but since I am on a G4 I can't install Virtual Box. Anyway any insight on how to get apps on a Powerbook G4 power pc would be greatly appreciated.

All "sudo" commands ask for the admin password. More than likely you are an admin on your computer. Just enter your password. As for Virtual Box, I taking a guess, but you probably don't need it to install the Homebrew Apps here. It is required if you want to develop your own apps.

My apps will not install, keeps saying connection refused. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

    goodaviss-macbook-2:~ Goo$ palm-install
    Usage: palm-install [OPTION...] [PACKAGE | APP_ID]
Install or remove applications from a Palm device.

    Options:
    -d, --device=DEVICE # specify DEVICE to use
-l, --list # list the installed applications
-r, --remove # remove applications instead of installing
--help # display this help and exit

PACKAGE is the file path of the package to install,
    e.g. ~/projects/packages/com.example.app_1.0_all.ipk.

APP_ID is the id of the application to remove.

DEVICE is a unique device id, "usb" for any usb-connected device, or "tcp" for
the emulator (must be running). If not specified, the first device found is used.

    Examples:

    # Install package
    palm-install ~/projects/packages/com.example.app_1.0_all.ipk

    # Remove application
    palm-install -r com.example.app

    # List applications on default device
    palm-install -l

    # List applications on usb-connected device
    palm-install -d usb -l

    # List applications on emulator
    palm-install -d tcp -l
    goodaviss-macbook-2:~ Goo$ palm-install /Users/Goo/Downloads/com.stickywhipit.newsimplebible_0.8.0_all.ipk
    palm-install: Connection refused
    goodaviss-macbook-2:~ Goo$

If you are getting "not found" when you run palm-install it means it is not in your PATH. Try using the full path.

    Code:
    /opt/PalmSDK/0.1/bin/palm-install example.package.ipk

Where did you install the SDK?

    root@castle:/# ls -l /opt/PalmSDK/
ls: /opt/PalmSDK/: No such file or directory

Cool. Now everything I previously posted should work.

    Example:
    Code:
    /opt/PalmSDK/0.1/bin/palm-install example.package.ipk
  19. #79
    root@castle:/# /opt/PalmSDK/0.1/bin/palm-install /Users/jake/Downloads/com-1.mic
    haelpule.mynotification_0.2.0_all.ipk
    /bin/sh: /opt/PalmSDK/0.1/bin/palm-install: not found
    root@castle:/#

    now what?
  20. #80
    What do these return?

    Code:
    ls -l /opt/PalmSDK/Current/

    ls -l /opt/PalmSDK/Current/bin/
