BETA TESTING NEXT VERSION
http://forums.precentral.net/web-os-...kout-game.html --------------------------------------------------------------------- I present: BrickBreaker! If you red my Tic tac toe thread you would know I was trying to learn canvas and here it is! This is game is based off the tutorial I read here Canvas Tutorial - Introduction The game is VERY VERY basic, but it is fun to fool around with. The idea is to bounce the ball off the paddle (which you control by sliding your finger) and into the bricks. THe goal is to erase them all. BTW the space under the game board was designed like that so you can slide you finger without obstructing the view. I plan on improving, but my skills are limited so we'll see. Maybe someone can help me?? Can't wait for feedback!! thanks. Enjoy!! Version 0.1 basic gameplay todo sorta in order: intro screen w/ some info lives scoring high scores (using cookies) PREttier (aka incorporate more mojo stuff to make it look like a pre app) accelerometer control of paddle(anyone have any idea how to do this) specials (like points or powerups) pretty icon better graphics PREttier (aka incorporate more mojo stuff to make it look like a pre app) Download the latest version from the Homebrew Apps Gallery: BrickBreaker Last edited by Milominderbinder; 08/09/2009 at 10:15 AM. |

Haha sweet. You might want to look at the accelerometer api's to use tilt to move the bar!

the game is EXTREMELY basic, it shouldn't take that long to see what's wrong with it. at this point I know my next steps (more or less, but I could always use community feedback) and just wanted to release this early version out so others could enjoy

Brilliant! I like how the puck is smart enough to know where my finger is - in other words, I can pick my finger up off the playing field, then put it down again on the other side and start moving, and the puck jumps to where I am touching.

very, you can just keep your finger on the screen and drag, then when the ball gets thru you just let go for a second and it will launch.

First off... this is pimp KMax!! I'm already having fun and I just got it!
Just a couple questions... does anyone else experience "lag" when playing (the ball freezes on the screen then about a second later jumps across the screen to where it was going)? Also, I broke the far upper right block after the ball hit the slider in the VERY bottom left hand corner of the screen. Not sure what was up with that but even though I tried, I couldn't replicate EXACTLY the circumstances. Not sure if this would be visible via coding easier than me playing until it happens again. |

i'm not surprised there is lag. I am actually calculating the rate of the ball based of the pre's internal clock. there is prob a better way to do this |

LOL! I read the title of the thread, and thought someone had a program to un-brick your phone. Do the bricks look like mini-pre's? LOL!
